Hello Jefferson Families!
We have been busy the last several weeks preparing for next school year. There have been some staff shifts and moves and I would like to make you aware of it all.

Kindergarten - Two Classrooms
We are saying a sad goodbye to Alex Fell. Alex and her family will be moving to Iowa at the end of the school year. Alex has been a wonderful kindergarten teacher and she will be greatly missed.
Megan McQueen has been hired as our Response to Intervention (RTI ) Specialist and will be leaving the kindergarten classroom. Megan is excited to take on this new role where she will be able to impact more students in our building.
Amanda Tucksen will continue teaching at Jefferson and will be joined by Hilary Lindsey. Mrs. Lindsey comes to us from Wilson Elementary where she has been teaching kindergarten for several years. Prior to Wilson, Mrs. Lindsey was a second grade teacher at Jefferson. Please help us to welcome her back to Jefferson.

Ms. Dixon comes to Jefferson after a year of student teaching experience at Adams Elementary where she spent the year fully immersed in work with students with disabilities as well as students experiencing challenging behavior. Ms. Dixon was described as someone who takes initiative immediately and becomes fully involved in the school building. Please help us to welcome Ms. Dixon to Jefferson.

Welcome Principal Jennifer Still!
Jennifer Still has been hired as interim principal at Jefferson Elementary taking effect July 1. She will fill the vacancy left by Melissa Harder who was selected to serve as Assistant Superintendent.
Jennifer began her career in public education as a Behavior Consultant for the Linn Benton Education Service District in 2012. Since that time, she has worked as a School Counselor at Pioneer School (K-8) in Lebanon and at Linus Pauling Middle School from 2014-17. She is currently the District’s behavior consultant serving students K-12 who have difficulties accessing their education. Her central focus has been to provide teachers with information and insights about their students in order to support teacher/student relationships and promote learning.
Her leadership experience includes creating a more equitable system to address chronic absenteeism and promote regular school attendance and collaborating with administrators, counselors and teachers to create support plans for students. In her current role, she works with the Educational Service District and the Oregon Department of Education to align the District with statewide initiatives and best practices to promote regular attendance and impact graduation rates.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Masters in School Counseling from Oregon State University. She also holds a Preliminary Administrator License from Lewis and Clark College.
Jennifer has a long-term connection with the Jefferson community as a parent and educator. Colleagues describe her as a collaborative problem solver with an ability to connect people to resources and to each other. She has a passion for improving systems of support for students and addressing challenges immediately, holistically, and with collaboration.
