Magers Memo
February 25th, 2018
Have a GREAT week!! We have a Celebration Assembly Wednesday & Tribe Time on Friday!
The Power of 1 Goes To....Jessica Ridder & Laura Snelson!!!
It is has been said that one smile can start a friendship and one nod can give a child confidence. Sometimes it is the smallest of acts that can ripple and spread and have a bigger impact than you ever imagined. The friendships formed by teachers who team up to share their knowledge by specializing learning for their classes to bring out the best in kids is happening here at Sequiota. These two work together to make a bigger impact on all their students. It is with open hearts, smiles, and love that our students are blessed in first grade from Jessica Ridder and Laura Snelson’s team teaching approach. Bravo for being selfless enough to teach with an open heart and focusing on what we all want –a better, more effective way to bring learning to our students. Trust, knowledge, love, and the effort to build each other up and make our tribe the best is why Kathy Roman and Traci Zay give you two the power of one. One tribe, one team, one child at a time.
Thank you Kathy & Traci for a beautiful tribute to your colleagues!
Survey Coming Tomorrow-Please complete regarding PL this year-will be used to plan next years PL!
This email is to let you know that the window for the Annual Needs Assessment is opening on Monday, Feb. 26 and closing at 11 pm on Friday, March 9th. All certificated educators will receive an email around 6:30 AM on Monday, Feb. 26 inviting them to participate by using a link provided. The overlap of survey windows could not be avoided this year, but we hope all teachers will be willing to find the time to complete both BrightBytes and the Needs Assessment Surveys. To honor the time of all involved, the survey has intentionally been reduced and should only take approximately five minutes to complete.
Annually, the Professional Learning (PL) Advisory surveys SPS educators via the Annual Needs Assessment as a way to determine the professional learning needs within sites and across the district. Results for each site will be shared at your SPLS Work Day as one piece of data to inform decisions for site learning. District results will be posted on our webpage and analyzed by the PL Advisory as they create the District’s PL Plan for 2018/19. The opinions and preferences shared on the Needs Assessment are anonymous and valued.
No action is needed from you related to this email other than to be aware that the two week window is opening. Thank you for your support of this effort to gather approximately 1500 perspectives.
YOU MAKE AN IMPACT EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT!
Meet: Bethany Hubbell
My name is Bethany Hubbell and I'm so excited to be a part of the tribe at Sequiota! I'm currently finishing my 11th year of teaching. I am coming from Jeffries Elementary where I have taught 1st grade for six years and 2nd grade for the past two. I'm looking forward to transitioning to kindergarten!
I received my Bachelors in Education from Missouri State University as well as my Masters in Literacy. Teaching students to read has been a long time passion for me as a teacher.
When I'm not at school, I like to spend time with my family. My husband, Brandon and I have been married for 10 years and we have two beautiful daughters Kylee and Addison. Kylee is in 8th grade at Reed Academy and will be attending the IB Program at Central next year. Addison is in 3rd grade at Hickory Hills Elementary. I also enjoy reading, listening to music and spending time with our dog, Albus Dumbledoge and pet hedgehog, Neville Quillbottom.
I love being a teacher and look forward to getting to know the staff and families at Sequiota!
Don't Forget About Appy Hour!
CONTINUE TO BE AWESOME-KIDS DESERVE IT!
