Miss Hoppes' Kindergarten
Weekly Update
December 1st through December 5th
Hello and Happy December! I am sure that you are all very busy with holiday preparations and we have been just as busy in the classroom! We worked very hard on a writing piece on how to behave during The Nutcracker. We should have excellent theater goers tomorrow :) The students also went on a snowman sight word hunt! There were twelve cards hidden around the room with snowmen holding a Fry Sight Words. Once the students found the cards and read the words, they were able to record it on their snowman paper. Hopefully, you saw this great activity in their green folder. Most of the students are able to now read List 1 and List 2! Please continue to keep up the great work! In math, we started working on our measurement unit. We will be using unifix cubes to measure items in the classroom and to compare sizes. The students are also really enjoying our talks on Advent. We marked on our calendar the days that a new candle it lit and what that candle represents. It is so sweet to see how they are preparing their hearts for the coming of Jesus.
Housekeeping :)
So sorry for the confusion over the sheep shirt! Please make them at home. Mrs. Beaulieu and I will make little ears for the students in school.
