Mysterious Powders
Lab Report
Tests
The tests my group chose to run include:
we chose to run the PH test to see if the mysterious powder would have a PH of 7 or 8. We ran the PR test to see if the mysterious powder was an acid. we tested iodine to see if the mysterious powder contained starch. Finally we tested PT to see if the mysterious powder was a base.
PH
This is a picture of our PH test. we did PH to test if the PH would be 7 or 8.
PR
This is the PR test ti see if the mysterious powder is an acid.
Iodine
This test shows if the mysterious powder contains starch.
Results and Conclusions
My group thinks the mysterious powder is red and green. We think it is red because the mysterious powders chemical reactions are about the same as the red powders chemical reactions. We think the mysterious powder is green because when we tested it for starch green was the only one that tested positive for starch.
What I learned
In this lab I learned how to take much better and more detailed notes. I also learned that iodine tests for starch, PT tests for a base, and PR tests for acid. (6 and below is an acid 7 is in between and 8 and above is a base.
