All School Read - Stuart Little
We are excited to announce our Spring 2024 school wide read aloud!!
Soon each student in school will receive the book:Stuart Little By E.B. White. The students get to keep this book thanks to TC PTA and our scholastic Book Fairs. We chose this book because it is a good one that readers of all ages can enjoy.
We are kicking off the read aloud April 17 by joining all the classrooms together through a Google Meet to get some background about the book and read Chapter 1 together. We will read this book together over 5 ½ weeks. Each week we will read a couple Chapters together at school.
Here is where you come in! We encourage you to read one chapter over each of the weekends with your student(s). *You can see the specific schedule below.
We will end our Read Aloud with a celebration. We will have a Family Movie Night at TC on May 21st. We will show the movie Stuart Little, and will have a BOGO Book Fair open for those wanting to stock up for summer reading.
The goal of this read aloud is for us all to unite together and to celebrate the love of reading.
At Home Reading Schedule:
April 20-22 Read Ch. 3
April 27-28 Read Ch. 6
May 4-6 Read Ch. 9
May 11-12 Read Ch. 12

More Summer School information
Create Account In Focus SIS
To register students for Summer School, you must first create an account in the district's new student information system called FOCUS SIS. This change is necessary because Tyler SIS, our current system, is being discontinued.
You will create the account in FOCUS SIS and link your student(s) to your account. Once completed, you'll be able to register your student(s) for summer school.
To complete this process, you will need the student’s ID number and PIN, which were sent to parents via email on April 9.
This process will only be accessible starting April 15. A video link explaining this process will be shared on the 15th as well.
If you don't plan to enroll your student(s) in summer school, no action is needed at this time. The FOCUS SIS enrollment process will be revisited this summer when you register your student(s) for the 2024-2025 school year.
We appreciate your understanding as we transition to this new system. For any questions or assistance during the enrollment process, please reach out to our support team at summer.school@raypec.org.
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year is taking place now!
If your child will be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2024, see information about kindergarten registration and screening.
As you register, you will select a time and date for an in-person screening appointment. Screening dates vary by school.
Because the District is transitioning this year from Tyler SIS to Focus School Software, families registering an incoming kindergarten student will initially register using a Google form. You will not be required to email/provide proof of residency during kindergarten registration. All PreK-12 parents/guardians are required to register online in July, and you will prove residency at that time.

Watchdogs!
WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative.
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:
1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Who are WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students)?
WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S.® school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.
Please Contact: Dave Killpack at david.killpack@raypec.org and barb Rewald at barb.rewald@raypec.org to set up an orientation and/or time to volunteer.
