OHS ACT Incentive Program News

Attention Juniors
With the State ACT Test coming up on March 9th, you have the opportunity to take an ACT exam in February to help you obtain another official score and gain valuable experience while earning points for our incentive program.
Here’s the important information:
Test Date - February 6, 2021
Registration Deadline - January 8, 2021
Take the standard ACT Test without Writing (save $15). The March 9, 2021 State ACT will include the Writing test.
Cost of exam - $55

As part of our ACT incentive program for our juniors, students taking the February ACT will receive the same number points toward their incentive goal as the composite score they earn on the exam.
2020-21 ACT Incentive Program
In an effort to help provide motivation for our students to perform at their best on the ACT and to provide all students with an opportunity to earn incentives, the following is offered:
Students can earn ACT incentive opportunity tickets based upon not only test performance, but also based upon time spent doing test preparation.
Each point scored on the March ACT test will earn a student one (1) ticket (ex. 24 on the ACT earns a student 24 tickets).
Completion of a practice test - 10 points each (2 opportunities - see below)
Completion of an actual ACT test in February (see Guidance for information on registration)- 10 points each
Each 30 minutes spent on test prep in the Albert.io Program will earn the student one (1) additional ticket up to a maximum of ten (10) tickets.
How do I sign up for those practice ACT test sessions? Click here to register. Those sessions take place here at OHS from 8:30 to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 15th and Friday, February 12th. Those are records days for the district. What are the benefits?
a. Students leave knowing their scores and with the answer key.
b. They're FREE.
c. Statistically, students who take practice ACT exams see higher scores on each subsequent exam they take.
d. The environment for the practice exams is exactly what they will see when they take the real thing.
REWARD TIME!!!
Students will earn early release privilege for the 4th quarter based upon achieving one of the following or a combination of them:
Minimum ACT score of 20
Minimum ACT score of 19 and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Minimum ACT score of 19 and a minimum improvement of 2 or more points over the ASPIRE high end predicted score
Early release for Junior level is contingent upon being “in good standing”.
Incentives that all students can put tickets in for include:
Free parking space for the 2021-22 school year (2 winners)
Season pass for football games (2 winners- 1 pass each)
Season pass for volleyball games (2 winners- 1 pass each)
Season pass for boys basketball games (2 winners- 1 pass each)
Season pass for girls basketball games (2 winners- 1 pass each)
Season pass for wrestling meets (2 winners- 1 pass each)
Test/Assessment exemption (2 winners) prizes total exemption is at teacher’s discretion
Lunch incentive-free meal delivered (2 winners)
Gift cards (multiple winners)
