4th Grade Weekly Newsletter
May 29 - June 2, 2023
EOGs are next week!!
Yes, indeed. This is the week. Please keep in mind that while teachers take these tests pretty seriously, it is only one snapshot of many that the students have given us with regards to their learning this year. It is not uncommon for a student to grow a lot in one area, and less in another. Sometimes students have their fire lit by one great book and overnight the reading magic happens, and they suddenly understand more and take more interest in learning in that arena. Sometimes a great teacher inspires a math concept, or a student masters something they thought was impossible, and suddenly math is more comprehensible. Sometimes kids are just physically and socially growing, and that is what takes priority for that child. No matter where your child is in that continuum, please help them feel their best each day by reinforcing bedtimes and sending them with a hearty breakfast. They are going to do great!
One additional note: Students (and teachers) are not allowed to have smart watches or phones in the classroom during End of Grade Testing. Honestly, it would be better and easier all around if students did not bring them to school on Wednesday and Friday. Thank you for helping us have an excellent testing environment.
