Social Studies-Week 2
New learning for social studies will not begin until April 20. You can use the chart below or you can pick up where you are leaving off.
Second Grade Social Studies: Unit 5-Our Nation Past and Present
(This is in the 2nd grade Social Studies Schoology folder)
Recommended Time: 3 times a week for 30 minutes.
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills(TEKS):
3(A) Identify several sources of information about a given period or event such as reference materials, biographies, newspapers, and electronic sources.
3(B) Describe various evidence of the same time period using primary sources such as photographs, journals, and interviews.
18(A) Obtain information about a topic using a variety of valid oral sources such as conversations, interviews, and music.
18(B) Obtain information about a topic using a variety of valid visual sources such as pictures, maps, electronic sources, literature, reference sources, and artifacts.
18(C) use various parts of a source, including the table of contents, glossary, and index, as well as keyword Internet searches to locate information

Inform students of their assignments today in all subject areas you teach. Post the live lesson in your VLE soon after the live lesson ends.
Day 4: Pre-recorded message (Asynchronous). Greet students. Ask students who did not attend the Day 3 live lesson to go back and watch, complete Day 3 activities, and then come back to Day 4. Inform students of their assignments today in all subject areas you teach. Post the message on your VLE by 9:00 AM on Day 4.
Day 5: Pre-recorded message (Asynchronous). Greet students. Ask students who did not watch Day 4 lesson to go back and watch, complete activity, and then come back to Day 2. Inform students of their assignments are today in all subject areas you teach. Wish them a great weekend, and that you’ll see them on Monday. Post the message on your VLE by 9:00 AM on Day 5
