Marlow Monday Message
Monday, April 22nd, 2024
Good evening, Marlow Families! It's April 22nd, and there is nothing like a crisp, 38 degree Monday morning in late April!! ....And it may be a little colder tomorrow morning. Bundle Up!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and as we count down the weeks left in the school year, today marks the 5th to last Monday of waking up for school!!! YIPEEE!!! Even through the excitement, we have entered into a very important time of the year, where students are completing end-of-year assessments across all grade levels. From mClass to iReady to EOG's, everyone needs to come to school every day ready to learn and ready to show off their best work!! #BeYourBestTODAY!
This Wednesday, we will be celebrating Administrative Assistant Professionals Day, and we want to send a Marlow Shout-Out to Ms. Mac and Ms. Pittman in the Front Office!! They do a tremendous job in the front office on a daily y basis, so let's show them our appreciation on Wednesday! If you happen to stop in the front office on Wednesday, please let them know how much we love them and appreciate their work! They are the best!
As a reminder Marlow families, there is no school for students or staff this Friday, April 26th. It is an Annual Leave Day for Staff. Enjoy the 3-day weekend!!!!

UPDATED - Attendance....by the numbers
As said many times before, student attendance plays an integral part of a child's success in school.
Our school wide goal is an Average Weekly Attendance Rate (AWAR) of 95% or greater.
Last week (4/8 - 4/12), our school-wide AWAR was 96.71%. WOW! THAT IS AWESOME!!
Keep up the great work!
Especially as we begin End-Of-Year assessments here in the next few days, let's keep this positive momentum going this week and here at the end of the year!!

Volunteer Help Needed for Field Days - May 7th and 8th
The 2 most fun days of the year are coming up! Field Days at Glenn C. Marlow Elementary! If you didn't already know, we have the best PE Teacher in all the land, and Mr. Vaughn knocks it out of the park with fun activities for Field Day!
Field Day for K-2 will be on Tuesday, May 7. 3-5 will have their turn on Wednesday, May 8. The fun lasts all day every day, and lunch is provided for volunteers.
Sign up for a shift HERE. Station names and teachers at the station during each shift are listed so you can sign up for a game you like when your student is passing through! Feel free to follow along to help your class before or after your shift at the game!
Field Day doesn't feel like volunteering because it is just PLAYING with the awesome kids of Marlow! Come have fun with us!
Marlow's 25th Anniversary Celebration!!!
Join us on Tuesday, April 30th (Yes, the same night at our Family Book Fair Night) for a Family Night of music, a Marlow Scavenger Hunt, prizes, and sweet treats as we celebrate 25 years at Marlow Elementary!!!! This will be a wonderful school community event as we celebrate 25 years of excellence, family, community, and success! We hope to see you there!!!
In need of....Boys -- Small / Medium Shorts and Sweat Pants
Separate from our Lost and Found, we do have a clothing closet for students who may need a change of clothes during the day, for whatever reason. Right now, we are in need of small/medium shorts and sweat pants for boys. Athletic shorts work great, since they have elastic bands.
If you have any that you would like to donate to the school, please bring them by the Front Office anytime and label them 'For Clothing Closet".
We greatly appreciate your support and generosity!!!
