Social Media at its finest
Chapter 1
Social Media Now&Future
Long before social media became huge and entertainment centered as it is now , before it was accessible to the public ; it was the focal point for social interactivity. As it expanded past the rich & wealthy , the idea of connecting computers and discussing topics mutually came into play with the internet. Over the years , it has only became more sophisticated.
Social media is amazing so far we are able to do so much more just in a palm of our hands. We have Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, Facebook, and etc. There are millions of social media sites. You have varieties of Social Media, from entertainment to dating sites; It's amazing how you can go from not having a computer that only has "windows" to being able to get on Snap Chat and see each others faces and speak to one another from thousands of miles away on your cell phone. Its phenomenal how technology and social media has came along.
social media's future is going to be out of this world, just imagine how magnificent it's going to become. It will probably get so real that you could possibly go through the screen of your phone, tablet , or computer; or it maybe get to the point of where the screen will virtually pop up in front of you. In the future, there will no longer be a twitter, Instagram, and etc. it'll be something way better than the last; the new and approved app or website.

Are We A Nation of Proles ? or Are We ?
How have your views changed or deepened from your initial ideas on Media Literacy?
My views about Media Literacy has deepened drastically, the way we have learned about social media is an eye opener. Going through the whole process of reading and evaluating papers helped a lot. Doing what you have told us helped me understand when people say, “don’t just read it understand what you are reading.” Just by doing my first entry on media literacy showed me about the evolvement of the social media. The social media status now is higher than what it was a decade ago. My Initial idea on media literacy was just , “ we have all these new apps and gadgets but the more and more I got into the year I learned more that the apps we are downloading are the same. The only difference about them are the individuals using them. It blew my mind that I could break down what something is just by paying more attention to what is being said and what’s being demonstrated in my face that I never paid any attention to. But apps aren’t the only media literacy that’s around. The complex messages we receive from television, radio, Internet, newspapers, magazines, books, billboards, video games, music, and all other forms of media opened my eyes and made me think, “what if I never took this class” and it came to me that if I didn’t take this class I would be a prole to this complex world that I have been born. I also discovered that media literacy is just something that builds an understanding of the role of media in society as well as essential skills of inquiry and self-expression necessary for citizens of a democracy. Knowing about these things help me also understand the slick and sly words that can be tossed around in your face. IF IT WAS A SNAKE IT WOULDVE BIT ME DEAD IN THE FACE
Reflect on Prince Ea’s message in “Can We Auto-Correct Humanity.”
Can we auto correct humanity? Yes we could it would be pretty easy believe it or not. If we could get a good amount of individuals to come together and promote the movement it would be known as something we call a “Trend”.
The fact that we are on our phones more than we should. It’s kind of crazy that the phone supposed to connect us to one another but it actually disconnect us from one other. What happened to when you have to go to another individuals face and get to know them? The phone didn’t do anything but build up the shyness in us victims of technology. To take away these effects, we should create a day that everyone comes together and drop the phones and meet with one another. I guess the day should be called “COME TOGETHER DAY”. It would be a good vibe for us , more confidence will be brought upon one another. No more lying, no more talking to the screen because you don’t know who you are talking to unless you meet in person. This day could even decrease cat-fishing. But, as Prince Ea himself says, there is no auto-correct for what is happening; everyone has to make the choice to power down their cellphones at the end of the day and take a break from humanity. We could do it , it only takes one to start and another to follow and spread the word.
