PIC OF THE WEEK:
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Greene Devil Families,
It's hard to believe, but the end of the school year is quickly approaching! As our current Greene Devils are wrapping up their school year, we are preparing to welcome our newest Greene Devils from our Greeneville City elementary schools. We will be hosting an Upcoming 6th Grade Family Night on Monday, May 6th from 6:00-7:00 at Greeneville Middle School.
I would like to invite our current GMS students to volunteer as student leaders for the family night. Student volunteers will assist by greeting families and giving directions to families as they tour the building. We need approximately 20 student volunteers. If your child is interested, please use the QR code or link below to sign up. The link to sign up will close once 20 spots are filled.

FOOD AND DRINK POLICY
Our GMS policy is no outside drinks such as coffee and energy drinks as well as outside food such as fast food breakfast and things like huge bags of TAKIS or shareable size candy.
Food and snacks to be eaten at lunch is allowable, but we strictly ask that NO ONE SHARES FOOD in the mornings, at lunch, etc.
If we do see anyone bringing in food or sharing we will ask them politely to throw it away. Our cafeteria is always fully stocked and has been doing an amazing job keeping snacks and waters/Gatorades available for students to purchase at lunch if needed.

NAIA Volleyball Tournament- Permission Needed for Student Participation
Don't forget to return your permission slips! Students attending will be allowed to bring a blanket or towel to sit on, wear a hat while outside, and bring sunscreen to apply before going outside (no sharing).
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to inform you of an upcoming educational opportunity for our students at Greeneville Middle School (GMS). On April 26, 2024, we have arranged for GMS students to walk to the park next to our campus to watch the NAIA Volleyball Tournament. This event presents a fantastic chance for our students to witness high-level sportsmanship and athleticism.
To ensure the safety and security of our students during this outing, they will be accompanied by teachers, teaching assistants, and School Resource Officers (SRO). We have taken every measure to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
As part of our commitment to transparency and inclusivity, we encourage you to take a moment to familiarize yourselves with the attire typically worn by NAIA volleyball players during competitions. You can easily find this information by conducting a quick online search. We believe it is important for parents to feel comfortable with the activities their children are engaged in, and understanding the dress code of the event can help facilitate that comfort. You can find additional information about the event at the following website: https://www.naia.org/sports/beachvball/visitors-info.
Please carefully review the details below and indicate your consent for your child to participate in this event by signing and returning the permission slip no later than Wednesday, April 24. Students will receive permission slips on Tuesday, April 9th.

Beth Ricker
Putting First Things First
For Namaya's now 3 years at this school she has always been very helpful to me and understanding when it came to my children. She also was very comforting when my son had been at the school as well.So I would like for her to be recognized for how good she is.
Mrs Jessica, Mrs Jan, and Mrs Judy
Sharpening the Saw,
They make learning fun! Mrs Jessica, Mrs Jan and Mrs Judy go above & beyond to teach us with creativity, care, and compassion. They are the best teachers, and we are so grateful for the energy they put in to every day.
Robin Lafever
All of the above
We have had choral assessment this week and we got 2 Superiors!! It all wouldn't have been possible without her. I am going to miss her so much next you!!
Coach Bowman
Seeking First to Understand, then to be Understood
Coach Bowman has impressed me with his coaching skills as well as how inspirational he is at all times. He works so hard to build his athlete's skills by first building their confidence. I have enjoyed watching him coach my runner. She has truly grown under his direction.
Do You Have A GMS Shout-Out to Share?
GMS is full of amazing people and we would love to hear your stories of how a GMS staff member is making a difference for your student! Did your student talk about a cool lesson or activity? Does your student come home talking about a favorite coach or teacher? If so, click the link above to share some love and fill out the GMS Staff Shout-Out Form!
GRADES and POWERSCHOOL REMINDER
- ALL missing assignments will be entered as a "0," so the missing assignment is accurately reflected in the students' overall grade. This includes missing assignments from absences.
- This does not mean they will not be able to make up their work, but simplifies the process of knowing what is missing and what is not from any absence or lack of completing an assignment.
- It is your student's responsibility to check Canvas and talk with their teacher about missing work when absent.
- All teachers will update grades weekly for on time assignments with late assignments updated within the next week.
- If you do not see grades for your student on a weekly basis, please let a GMS Administrator know.
- If you need help with PowerSchool, email Danielle Stephens, stephensd@gcschools.net and she will assist you.
Afternoon Car Rider Pick-Up
In order to streamline and ensure the safety of our afternoon car rider pick-up process, we kindly remind all parents that every car rider must possess a CarRiderPro tag. This tag is crucial as it is automatically scanned upon entry into the car line, allowing the names of students to populate on a list visible within classrooms. Please be informed that students are not dismissed from their classrooms until their name appears on the CarRiderPro list. Additionally, to prioritize the safety of our students and staff and to comply with state law, we remind drivers that cell phone use is not permitted in the carline; therefore, please refrain from texting students while in the carline.
In addition, we've made acquiring replacement or additional CarRiderPro tags convenient for all families. These tags can be purchased for $5 through our school website. Simply click on the "Parents" tab and select the online store option. Once purchased, tags can be picked up by a parent or guardian at the school office the following day. Thank you for your cooperation in utilizing these tags to streamline our car pick-up process and uphold safety standards for our school.
