LPS March Update
Check out all the excitement in the next couple of weeks!
Spring Break is ALMOST here!
The months just continue to fly by this school year! We are in the last quarter and yesterday marked the first day of Spring! This time of year is always so fun, but yet so fast. Please be sure to read all the information in the newsletter so that you don't miss out on any of the excitement.
We are currently enrolling for 3K, 4K, and 5K students for next school year. Please see the information below if you have a student that you would like to enroll for PreK or K next year. Be sure to get your child registered ASAP. Also, please share this information with people that live in our area that may have PreK or K5 students.
The book fair will take place next week along with Spring Pictures on Wednesday! We will also celebrate the Week of the Young Child next week! It is sure to be a great week!
As always, please let us know if we can support your family in any way. We love our LPS community! Let's finish the last quarter of school STRONG!
Wish you well,
Jessica Patterson, Principal
In-House Field Trip Payment DUE!
The last $10 payment for our in-house field trips for the school year is due March 28. All students have participated in the Fall Festival and the STEM Day regardless of payment status. However, students that do not make the full payment will not be able to participate in our Summer Celebration activities. We need the full $30 payment by March 28. If you are not sure how much you have paid up to this point, please check with your child's teacher. These are all great experiences and we do not want any of our PACK to miss out. Thank you for your support!

Safety Reminders
As a reminder, anyone who is picking up students in the car line must have their car tag. A picture of the tag or just telling us the number will not be accepted. If you do not have a car tag, you will be asked to park so you can come inside to show your ID and receive a new car tag. You will then get back in the car line to pick up your student. I am sorry if this is an inconvenience but safety is always our first priority. Thank you for adhering to this policy and being kind when we ask you to park and come inside.
Also, we allow parents of PreK students to walk their child in to the front doors in the mornings. However, parents should not be walking students to class or try to conference with teachers during this time. Teachers are busy greeting students and getting their day started and it is also a safety concern to have parents walking in the building that haven't checked in through the front office.
We appreciate your understanding and for helping us ensure the safety of all of our students!
Golden Apple Award Winner
We are so proud to share that one of our amazing educators, Ms. Daisy Duncan, has been nominated and recognized as a Golden Apple Award winner! WYFF4 news reporter, Sydney Shadrix, surprised Ms. Duncan this morning in her kindergarten classroom. We are so proud of Ms. Duncan and are excited to celebrate this recognition with her! Be on the lookout for the story to air on April 11th.

Title I Information
Liberty Primary School is a Title I School. We receive federal funding to support our students as we work to build a strong foundation for our early learners. Part of our funding supports a parent resource center. If you would like more information or need assistance in helping your child with reading and math instruction or resources, please email Hannah Davis, Title I Curriculum Specialist, at hannahdavis@pickens.k12.sc.us or call 397-4800 ext. 4847.
Parents Right to Know:
Parents have the right to know the professional qualifications of their child's teachers and assistants. Our district must provide information about professional qualifications in a timely manner.
Federal law allows parents to ask these questions:
* Is the teacher certified to teach the subjects and/or grade levels the teacher is teaching?
* Is the teacher's certificate a waiver or substandard certificate?
* What are the teacher's academic major and graduate degrees?
* What is the teacher's certification area?
