Greetings!
May 23rd...Where did the year go?! As we wind down these last few weeks of school, we wind up with some fantastic student recognition and informational events. This week Wednesday we will host 5th grade parents for our 6th grade parent information night. Thursday we are hosting the Re*Lei for Life Event from 2:15~5:00 (info for this was included in the last newsletter). We have our awards night coming up on June 8th - invitations went out today!
Our end of the year Regents & Proficiency Exam schedule is attached. We have scheduled exams to occur within the school days and have not added any half days. If you have any questions about this or any of the other events, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Students of the Week & Class Acts
The following students have contributed positively to the climate of our middle school and have been nominated for Student of the Week:
Kameron Young was nominated by the Neptune for being an enthusiastic student who comes to class ready to learn. He is excited about learning new things and enjoys sharing knowledge and strategies with the rest of the class. He is an active participant in class and is always willing to help out a fellow student or teacher. Kameron is a role model for others on the team.
Jacob Johnson was nominated by the Pluto team. Jacob is a hard working and diligent student, who others enjoy being around. He is eager to do his work and please his teachers.
Marrlee Ostrowski was nominated by the Pluto team. Marrlee is an amazingly diligent and hard working student who doesn’t get discouraged easily. She does everything her teachers ask her to do without complaining.
Kaitlin Petrotta was nominated by the Jupiter team for Kaitlin is a hardworking student who tries her very best.
Raina Hoffmann was nominated by the Saturn team. Raina completes all her assignments both inside and outside of class to the highest quality. She works hard and receives exceptional grades. Keep up the amazing work, Raina!
Emily Wells was nominated by the Mercury team. Emily has shown dedication to her studies and is always helping others. She consistently works hard in every class and has been seen helping others. Great work Emily!
Tyler Catalano was nominated by the Mars team. Tyler is a dedicated student who interacts well with everyone in the school community. He contributes positively to the classroom.
We would also like to recognize our Class Act recipients for their actions which exhibit positive character and leadership traits.
Eva Sutton our 6th grade recipient is recognized for School Engagement and Responsibility. Eva consistently tries her best in class. She participates daily and gives her best effort on homework.
Alex Tomaselli our 7th grade recipient is recognized for Service to Others. Alex found a key after intramurals in the gym and returned it to the office. Thank you!
Owen Goodman our 8th grade recipient is recognized for Service to Others. Owen came to my aid during a nose bleed and helped me to stay calm.
Principals’ recipients for this week:
Jeremiah Perrin – JJ is a hard working, polite and charming young man. He is always pleasant to talk to and has very mature conversations. JJ works hard to ensure that he succeeds in school and also looks out for others and stands up for what he believes. He is a pleasure to work with and it has been great getting to know JJ throughout the year.
Congratulations to all our Students of the Week and Class Act recipients!!
NJHS Community Service
The National Junior honor Society members are becoming active in volunteering for our schools and communities. They are required to get 10 service hours for in-school hours and 10 hours in volunteer time in the community. Congratulations to our new inductees.
8th Grade Convocation
Attention 8th Grade Parents:
Our 8th Grade Convocation is just around the corner! We are looking for pictures that will be included in a pre-ceremony slide show. Students and families are encouraged to share 2-3 pictures that capture your child throughout their journey through middle school. We invite group or individual pictures of accomplishments, activities, sports, birthday parties, and fun gatherings. Pictures can be sent electronically (no later than June 3) to Heather Phillips - hphillips@wayne.k12.ny.us.
