Autism Awareness Day: Thursday, April 4th
World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day annually to raise awareness about autistic individuals throughout the world. This year we will celebrate on Thursday, April 4th.
Please wear BLUE on this day.
The Great North American Solar Eclipse
Harrison Elementary will be participating in the Great North American Solar Eclipse Viewing Event.
In our part of New Jersey, the sun will be about 92% obscured by the moon's shadow. Even if the sun isn't visible that day, the sky will get dark — starting around 2:09 p.m., and reaching maximum dimness at about 3:25 p.m. (the eclipse will end around 4:37 p.m.).
Glasses have been ordered for the staff and students. It is anticipated the NASA approved glasses will arrive on time, however, please note, this event is pending until the glasses arrive. Additionally, students who refuse to wear the glasses will not be permitted to participate. The eclipse can only be viewed with the appropriate glasses.
For any family that DOES NOT want their child to participate, please notify your classroom teacher as soon as possible.
We are looking forward to April 8th!
