ILEARN Testing
THIS IS IT!! 3rd graders will complete the ILEARN test THIS WEEK on the mornings of April 15 - 18 (Monday - Thurs.). Please make every effort to be here those days in order to avoid make-up testing. 2nd graders will be in an alternate space with activities to complete while we test.
Once again, please help me reinforce the message to: take your time, don't rush, do your best, and remember that it is just a test....it does not define you and isn't worth your worry. You are smart and we will get through this together. Most importantly, remember that you are so much more than a test score! LET'S DO THIS!!
If you are interested in learning more about this year's ILEARN tests, I have created a presentation you may view HERE.
Biomes Project
Biomes research and brochure templates came home on Friday. Please let me know if you have any questions....I know the boxes on the brochure are small; just have kids do their best in filling things in. Brochures are due on Monday, April 22. Thanks!!
Photos for Young Authors Day Book Needed!
Our YAD books this year are special memory books of family and friends. In order to complete these books, we need your help! Each student needs 10 photos of special people in their lives. This can include family: Mom, Dad, Grandma(s), Grandpa(s), Aunt(s), Uncle(s), Cousin(s), Pets, etc. If family does not complete your 10 photos, you can also include special friends....but I ask that this NOT be other Hershey Panthers (to avoid any hurt feelings). You can send in photos anytime.....they can be the actual photographs (you won't get them back) or photocopies. You can also email photos to me and I can print on the color printer here at school. We must have photos no later than Wednesday, May 1st so that we have plenty of time to create our books before Young Authors Day on May 21st. Thanks!!
BOILER UP Basket for PTO Pawlooza
Our classroom is collecting items for a Purdue-themed basket. We are accepting donations of anything Purdue: clothing (adult and child-sized), socks, pens, pads of paper, plushies, flags, gift cards (University Bookstore, Discount Den), etc. Please send in any donations by Friday, April 26th. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Attendance Line and Dismissal Changes
If your child is going to be absent from school, the office asks you to please call the Hershey Attendance Line at 765-269-8342. Also, if there is a change in your child's dismissal, please call the Hershey Office directly before 2:30 at 765-269-8280 rather than emailing the teacher(s).....we don't always check our email and don't want to miss anything. Thanks!!
