Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
December 12th-16th
What's Happening This Week:
- Ms. Harris' Science: On Wednesday of this week, students will take their Lesson 5 quiz. After this, we will start Lesson 6 on Behavioral/Structural Adaptations.
- Ms. Shipp's Social Studies: Students will take their Vocabulary quiz on Tuesday. Their test on the causes of the Revolutionary War will be Friday.
- Mrs. Thurston's ELA/Math: This week we are continuing fractions (equivalent and comparing). In ELA, we will write our speeches and work on our posters for the Expert Exhibit. We will also start point view.
- Ms. Harris' GT ELA/Math: This week we will be learning about how to find equivalent fractions and how to compare fractions with unlike denominators. In reading, we will be working reading a Jacob's Ladder story and finishing up our Expert Exhibit projects for Friday. We will have a spelling test this Friday.

GT Tacky Sweater Party

Homeroom Holiday Party
Our homeroom holiday party is Tuesday 12/20 from 12:30-1:30pm. We are planning a hot cocoa bar, cookies, games, and decorating our own edible Christmas trees. Other Information:
- Friday the 19th is the Holiday Luncheon at school. Parents are welcome to come and eat with their children during our lunch time. You are welcome to pay to eat the luncheon provided or bring food from home. For Friday only, the lunch time will be 10:30-11:00.
- Friday is also the Expert Exhibit. Students are to bring/wear a costume and props that best represent the person they are researching. They should have their paper turned in on Thursday and have a completed speech and poster for their presentation. Both the speech and poster will be completed this week in class. Parents are welcome to come from 1-1:30. Students will be presenting in their ELA afternoon classrooms. Can't wait to see everyone and celebrate all the students' hard work.
- December 21st is the last day of the quarter. Grades will be posted by that afternoon.
- December 21st is also a half day and PJ day for any students who would like to wear pajamas.
