February 2024
Love is in the air!
As we embark on this heartwarming month, we are reminded of the incredible power of kindness. Capturing Kids Hearts, our district's SEL program, defines kindness as "the ability and willingness to express care and compassion for others. Kindness is a choice to use our time, talent, and resources to better the lives of others and the world through genuine acts of love, compassion, generosity, and service."
Our school is buzzing with excitement as we focus on the values of kindness, inclusion, and acceptance. We believe that every student is a unique and special part of our Washington family, and it's essential to celebrate the diversity that makes us stronger together.
Throughout February, our classrooms will be abuzz with activities that highlight the importance of kindness. From crafting heartwarming cards to engaging in discussions about what it means to be inclusive, our students will be actively participating in building a culture of compassion.
We encourage parents and guardians to join the conversation at home, reinforcing the message of kindness and acceptance. Share stories of kindness, teach the beauty of embracing differences, and let's work hand-in-hand to create an environment where every child feels valued and appreciated.
Thank you for being a part of the Washington family, where love, kindness, inclusion, and acceptance are cherished values. Let's make February a month filled with warmth, smiles, and acts of kindness that will last a lifetime.
Wishing you all a love-filled February!
