News From The Director
Dear Families,
Thank you so much for your donations, sponsorships, and for attending our Gala of Giving. It was a great evening filled with good food, conversation, lots of bidding, and dancing! Maureen Hillyer and Emily Laird represented our preschool - putting in countless hours attending meetings, securing donations, and setting up baskets. I am beyond grateful for their time and effort. Thank you Maureen and Emily! Jenn Harsh and Meghan Swails did an incredible job making the 11th Annual Gala of Giving a huge success.
Our Art Shows will be coming up soon. Check out your child's teachers monthly letter for details! The Art Shows are scheduled during your child's class time.
May God shower you with blessings, love, and peace this Easter! Have a joyous celebration with your family!

Road Widening Project on Waggoner Road Coming Soon
Please see the letter below from our Director of Facilities, Scott Marsh, and please see the attachment for a map of the upcoming detours.
As many of you are aware, the City of Reynoldsburg has discussed the widening of
Waggoner Road. There are two phases associated with this project. Phase 1 will be
from Main Street, heading north to Priestley Drive, which is expected to last
approximately 18 months, and will begin in mid to late April 2024. Phase 2 will be from
Priestley Drive heading north to E. Broad Street, estimating the total time of the project
to last at least four years. This project includes replacing gas, water, stormwater catch
basins, and sanitary sewer lines. It will also include installation of new street lights, a
concrete sidewalk on the east side of Waggoner, an asphalt leisure path on the west
side (our side), installing a traffic light at the intersection of Waggoner and Priestley, and
a crossing light with a crosswalk near the main entrance to our campus.
When Phase 1 begins, southbound traffic will be closed from Priestley Dr. to E. Main
St., only northbound traffic will be permitted on Waggoner Road from E. Main Street,
while Priestly Dr. will be accessible to traffic from either direction. Please see the
attached diagram from the Reynoldsburg City Service Department showing the detailed
detour routes. By the same token, when exiting the campus from church or school
activities, you will have to turn left onto Waggoner heading north.
The City of Reynoldsburg Service Department will have an on-site project manager to
manage this project daily and he will do his best to ensure minimal disruption of travel
during school drop off and dismissal times. At this time, the City doesn’t anticipate any
work being performed on the weekends, so coming to and leaving Mass would be
normal, other than using the detour to travel north. That being said, please allow for
extra travel time and heavier traffic than normal on streets such as Priestley, E. Broad,
Taylor, and E. Main Streets.
While we monitor the changes that construction will cause, the south driveway near the
Preschool will be closed on the weekends. This will allow only one exit out of the main
driveway as all traffic is heading in the same north direction.
We realize that the Waggoner Rd. construction will be an inconvenience to most who
come to St. Pius X. We ask that, as good stewards of our faith, you remain patient and
travel with caution as crews and machinery will be in operation. As more information
becomes available, we will communicate this to you in our weekly bulletin.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to stop by the Rectory office or email
Scott Marsh at smarsh@cdeducation.org and we will do our very best to provide you
with answers.
Scott Marsh, SPX Director of Facilities
