DLI Update
Ms. Brunner/ Ms. Masanz
Social Studies: We are starting our unit on United States history. We have a lot to cover and the students seem very excited about the subject. We are currently starting to explore the revolutionary war.
ELA: Currently we are reading Tiger Rising together. We are using this novel to explore the idea of theme. We are also looking at how we can read our books more intensely. This means we are searching for detail in what we read, looking for new words, picturing what we read in our mind, and being able to retell what we read. I encourage your child to be reading 20 minutes a day on their own.
In Writing. we are finishing up our fictional stories. I am excited to see how student's ideas grow into their final drafts.
In Science we just finished learning about sound and vibrations. We will be starting energy for our next unit.
In Math we have just finished Multiplication. We will be moving into Division. Factors, Multiples, Prime and Composite numbers were visited this last week. Please have your student practice multiplication facts.
