Due to a recent USDA Summer Food Service Program Waiver Extension, Urbandale CSD has been approved by the Iowa Department of Education to provide free breakfast and lunches starting Monday, September 14 through December 31, 2020, or until the congressionally appropriated funding runs out. This extension allows all students to receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of their meal status during this time. This applies to meals served to students when they are attending school in person or when they are attending school remotely (Note: this also applies for children 18 years and younger who are not enrolled in our District). You’re welcome to review the USDA announcement. (Note: A la carte items will still be available for purchase at the Middle School and High School.)

How To Attend School Board Meetings
Procedure For Public Comment During School Board Meeting
Citizens wishing to address the Board on a certain agenda item must notify the Board Secretary, Mary Beth Fast, prior to the board meeting (fastm@urbandaleschools.com). The following procedures will be followed for individuals to address the Board of Directors at meetings:
Any person wishing to address the Board must inform the Board Secretary prior to the meeting (by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting) giving their name, address, and subject to be discussed and comments they wish to share. If the subject is already listed as an agenda item, the Board may allow the person to speak at the time the item comes up at the meeting; otherwise the person may address the Board during Open Forum.
The presiding officer will allocate an amount of time to each speaker, with five minutes being the usual allotment. (Policy No. 217)
The total period of time allotted for the Open Forum shall generally be thirty minutes.
The Board of Directors will generally take a subject raised during Open Forum under advisement, unless it is deemed that action is necessary immediately. The Board will attempt to have a response to Open Forum presentations as soon as practicable.

Volleyball and Football Ticketing Information for Fall
The Central Iowa Metropolitan League, based upon guidance received from Governor’s Office of the State of Iowa, the Iowa Department of Education, the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, and the Iowa High School Athletic Association, has released its procedures for spectator admission to the CIML member school fall sports seasons.
Volleyball and Football Ticketing
Entrance is limited to those with a ticket voucher issued by the host that allows a spectator to purchase admission or use a school issued pass.
Ticket vouchers will be issued to students on the roster based upon stadium capacity and roster sizes. On the road, only two tickets are issued per student. There are no additional ticket vouchers available to the community at this time.
Your patience and cooperation with site administration, gate workers, officials, coaches, players and other spectators is both expected and appreciated.
Masks are required at both Volleyball and Football contests at home and on the road.
Once you arrive at your designated area, we ask that you do not wander to other areas of the venue to visit with others. Please stay in your selected area for the entire game.
Any younger fans admitted to the game will not be allowed to roam the venue, play catch, or run freely – they will need to remain inside your seating area.
Limited concessions will be available at home games.
To limit on waste and distribution, printed rosters will not be available. Rosters may be available by downloading the Varsity Bound app.
Social distancing guidelines are in place and will be enforced while in the facility.
Your patience and cooperation with site administration, gate workers, officials, coaches, players and other spectators is both expected and appreciated.
All spectators are asked to stay home if they show signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or if they have been in contact with an individual with a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
All varsity events will be streamed online at www.j-hawks.com/live.
Unfortunately these plans have placed limits on attendance at our events for students, families, and the community. We all hope for the day when we can remove spectator limits on events, but until then, we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
