News and Notes
Happy Thursday Buffalos,
We have almost made it to Spring Break! It's hard to believe that fourth quarter will begin on Monday, March 20th. Fourth quarter is packed with projects, field trips, and fun school traditions like Field Day. A few items of note in the coming weeks:
- Third Quarter Key Assembly- We will honor key recipients on 3/24 at 9:30 in the Gymnasium.
- Camp Invention is Back- Camp Invention will be at BES June 12-16. Click on the video above to learn more about the program or click on the button below to sign up your child.
- Social Work Appreciation Week- This week is Social Worker Appreciation Week and we are blessed to have an amazing Social Worker that works to build relationships with all kids. Mrs. Simpson's office is right next to the main office and her space serves as a place students can visit when they are overwhelmed or just want to talk. Mrs. Simpson also has contacts for families seeking services to support their child.
- Track- Do you have a 5th or 6th grader interested in track? Check out information below for our last round of Intramurals.
- Upcoming Maturity Videos for Grades 5 and 6- Maturity videos will be viewed on the afternoon of March 24 for students in grades 5 and 6. Communication Director Mrs. Tiffanie Kinsch sent out an email with details about these videos and the content that will be discussed. Please let me know if your child will not attend this viewing.
Kids Heart Challenge Kickoff with Coach Glatczak
Our school had so much fun kicking off this year's Kids Heart Challenge this week!
We traveled the globe with this year's heart heroes who emphasized the importance of things like helping others, drinking water, getting enough sleep and saying NO to tobacco and vaping.
BONUS: Your student will receive this awesome wristband just for joining at the website shown directly below or using the KHC app.
EXTRA BONUS: For any student who raises $100+ will get to pour DRAGON DROOL on a teacher!
Finn's Mission: Have you met heart hero, Finn? He's sharing Finn's mission to help us and all help kids with special hearts- like him!
He's also set a goal to get 1.8 million families (in honor of the 18 procedures he has had) across the country to learn Hands-Only CPR. You can help by joining Finn's Mission to learn this life-saving skill.
When your student completes all the missions, they'll earn Finn's Lifesavers Award! Finn's Mission is on the free Kids Heart Challenge app.
