BOSS COMPETE IN ARCADIA FESTIVAL OF BANDS TOURNAMENT
This is the highest the BOSS has ever placed at Arcadia and the High music award was a special treat! Because of the Dynasty programs in this activity, the Overall Sweepstakes and music award has only been awarded to 3 other schools in the last 25 years and now- THE BOSS.
(i.e. Overall Sweepstakes and/or Music Sweeps has only been won by Diamond Bar, MLKing, or Rancho Bernardo for the last 25 years).
Our color guard also placed very high (2nd place in AA). This is the highest placing for our color guard at Arcadia as well, and the strength of the Color guard helps the overall score of the band (Thank you Coach Keys and Color Guard).
This year, the BOSS won the High music award at all 4 competitions entered-- the first time ever for the BOSS!!

Enriching Students for Office Hours
Santiago is adding Enriching Students to help make Office Hours more efficient for students. The Enriching Students program will allow students to either be invited to Office Hours, or they will pre-select where they will get the help they need or enrichment and have a guaranteed seat.
Why are we adding ES?
- To enhance students’ options and decision making.
- Also, will allow student to see invites from teachers.
- Notes posted by the teacher will tell students what to bring, or if it the session is closed to non-Shark scholars, or for testing.
What is the benefit to students?
- Unless invited students take control of where they go.
- Less guessing about what is going on in each class, won’t be turned away if they signed up in ES.
- Will know where to go once the bell rings
What will you need?
- Computer OR
- Phone
How to do it?
- Simple sign in through the “MyCNUSD” dashboard and Google
- Tutorial on the program
When to do it?
- Before Office Hours
- Wednesdays specifically during classes
What if I don’t sign up?
- An email will be sent home to alert the student and parent
- You will be assigned that morning to one of you teachers
What if I don’t attend?
- Attendance will be taken, so an absence is same as a cut in any other class.

This month, we're encouraging you to carry out small acts of kindness. This has been another difficult year of uncertainty and ups and downs for many of us. Kindness is contagious, and helping others has been proven to make us feel better too! Let's try to focus on being generous with our time and attention rather than money - it's free and better for everyone, as well as our planet!
