What's Happening This Week...
at Westview
1/29-2/1
Parents/Guardians,
Can you believe we are already moving into February. Our students are working diligently and pushing to the finish line. The end of 3rd Quarter, March 8th, will be here before we know it. Keep in mind how fast time is passing by. Keep an eye on ParentVue and work with your students and their teachers to keep them going strong.
Our winter sports are coming to an end. We continue to celebrate our "Senior Knights." As our athletes are reaching the end of their high school sports journey, we continue to celebrate their successes and help them to create positive lasting memories.
Westview Student Government is hosting our 6th Annual Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive. The campaign runs from Monday 1/29 to Friday 2/9.
- We are hoping to collect 2000lbs this year and beat our collection total from last year which was 1702lbs.
- Students can donate canned food items to their 4th period classes.
- Hunger and food insecurity impact families year round and the Souper Bowl of Caring Campaign takes place after the holidays. It’s a helpful reminder that families are in need throughout the year.
- One in every seven Arizonans struggles with food insecurity, which is the occasional or constant lack of access to food.
- “Food insecurity” means that some or all members of the household have limited or uncertain access to healthy, safe, nutritious foods, or an inability to acquire these foods in socially acceptable ways.
- In Arizona, food insecurity is a problem 2 million Arizonans are faced with every year. Nearly 30% of our neighbors are considered working poor, living on wages that barely cover housing and other basic necessities.
Please review the "Save the Date" section.
AZELLA Testing begins this week. Please help our AZELLA test takers to be prepared.
Remember to attend our Coffee Talk with counselors this Friday, 2/2. The topic is graduation talks for Seniors. Please see the Flyer below.
*Please note that Thomas Road will be closed from 1/29-2/19. Please make sure to leave a little earlier to make it on time to school. 🙃
We hope you have a great week!
