April 23 was National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Students are our most precious cargo, and school bus drivers play a crucial role in their success. Thank you to all of the school bus drivers!
Congressman Kim joined Camp Fire NJ at Walter C. Black Elementary School to see their work in classrooms up close which encourages healthy habits and builds up kids' self-esteem and confidence in what they accomplish!
The Walter C. Black Elementary School Student Council is celebrating Earth Day by cleaning up the school’s secret garden.
Last week, Grace N. Rogers Elementary School celebrated Autism Acceptance Week! A wonderful collaboration with the whole building to create an infinity symbol to display for the month. Rather than working to fit in, we can emphasize our differences and how they make everyone uniquely beautiful!
Mrs. Larkin's Melvin H. Kreps Middle School students went out to the AJ Collins Memorial Garden to draw (mostly) native plants from observation!
Thirteen Hightstown High School Business Students took part in Junior Achievement of New Jersey’s 2024 South Jersey Women’s Future Leadership Forum on Friday, April 19. Interacting with a variety of dynamic female business and industry leaders from the area, students gained direct insights into the hurdles and successes experienced by women in the business world. Through mentorship and dialogue, the event provided an impactful and inspiring experience for all participants.
Congratulations to Ananath Vasistha on becoming the program’s first ever Boy’s Tennis first singles champion at the 2024 MCT. Overall Hightstown’s Boys finished in the top 5 and are continuously making strides in a top heavy conference that’s loaded with talent.
The chess club at Hightstown High School hosted chess Grandmaster Arun Prasad for a simultaneous exhibition (in the high school library). In this event, GM Prasad played over 25 students and staff at the same time. This was a great opportunity for chess enthusiasts in EWRSD to test their skills against a world-renowned player.
