Quick Information on Mars
Daily Fact
Did you know that Mars is 35 million miles away from the Earth! Did you know that Mars is 228 miles always from the sun!
Gases and Characteristics of the Atmosphere of Mars
Mars has a very small atmosphere that makes it vulnerable to the asteroids in space. The atmosphere consists of carbon dioxide (95%), and a few portions of nitrogen, oxygen, argon, water, neon, hydrogen-deuterium-oxygen, krypton, and xenon. The atmosphere of Mars is unable to support life, because of its thinness. Earns atmosphere is mixed with complex gases and water vapor that provides resources for life. The Martian atmosphere contains about 0.08% of water in it's atmosphere, which makes it insufficient for any type of life on the planet. Earth's atmosphere has a strong and thick atmosphere which makes it hard for meteors and asteroids the enter the Earths surface. The Martian atmosphere is so weak and thin that it cannot hold of the meteors and asteroids.
The Average Temperatures on Mars
The average temperature on Mars at noon is about 80°F (27°C). At midnight the temperature dramatically drops down dramatically to about -100°F (-73°C). These temperatures are caused because of the distance form the sun. It is so cold because it is further away from the sun. It is warm because it gets sunlight, too.
Special Weather Conditions
Mars is kind of like Texas. The temperatures vary a lot, so when the temperature is high it is way to hot. When the temperature is low it becomes very cold. it's like that in Mars. When the temperature is high then it is dehydrating hot. When the temperature is low it is ice cold.
Physical Features on Mars
Mars is home to the largest volcano, Olympus Mons. Olympus Mons is about the size of New Mexico. It is also considered as the tallest mountain.
The Martian Calendar
A typical Martian year has 668 days. A Martian day is 24 hours, 37 minutes, and 22 seconds long.
Martian Moons
Mars has two moons knows as Phobos and Deimos. These moons are believed to be captured asteroids orbiting Mars. These two " moons" were found in 1817 by Asaph Hall.
Gravitational Pull of Mars vs. Gravitational Pull on Earth
The gravitational pull on mars is 62% lighter than the Earths gravitational pull. This means that if you were to go to Mars, you would weigh less than what you weigh on Earth. You would also be floating in Mars because of the weak gravitational pull. This is the opposite on the Earth. The gravitational pull is so strong that we can't float around like we can in Mars.
The Size of Mars
As you can see, Mars is like a dwarf next to a human.
Color of Mars
This pictures shows why Mars is called the red planet.
Surface of Mars
As you can see mars has a rigid surface and looks like it had been eroded.
Tourist Information
Accommodations on Mars
Once the MARS-396 has landed we will have many resorts you can choose from. Some of these resorts are Mars Luxury and Red Bed. These resorts provide free breakfast early in the morning and and a one time fee of $10 for every day. The floor space of the rooms in these resorts are about 3,000 sq.ft. They have 2 bath, 2 bed, a large living room, and 2 kitchens. By thistle you may be thinking that we are crazy because we have no water in Mars. Well along with us will come about 100,000 gallons of water which is plentiful for all the things that require water. We have them packages so that they won't float around. To take bath, you just pour water in your fully covered bathtub so nobody can see you. It will be floating around so you just wrt your hands and wipe your selves with it. Then you do the same with the soap and then you wipe yourselves with water again.
