2020-21 School Calendar Revisons
At the March 1 Board Work Session, the LISD Board of Trustees approved adjustments to the 2020-21 calendar. Find the updated 2020-21 calendar here: LISD.net/cal.
Key Adjustments/Highlights:
- Monday, March 8 remains a student holiday/staff workday.
- The 3rd Nine Weeks will now end Friday, March 12(previously Friday, March 5). The March Early Release Day will also move to March 12, and March 5 will now be a regular school day. This change is due to the winter weather closures affecting the balance of the spring semesters.
- The 4th Nine Weeks will begin Monday, March 22(previously Tuesday, March 9). Any learning pathway changes will take effect then. Friday, April 2 and Monday, April 5 remain as student/staff holidays.
- The last day of school is now Friday, May 21(previously Wednesday, May 26).
Additionally, the district will request a waiver from the TEA to not make up or use “bad weather days” for the four days of missed instruction due to the February winter storm. With the waiver, Monday, April 26 will remain on the calendar as a bad weather day. If the district does not use the bad weather day, the day will be a student/staff holiday.
LISD wants to thank both its families and its staff for the flexibility shown throughout this school year. It has truly been like no other in history, and has required the district to make changes throughout the school year, which is not typical for school calendars. It is our hope and plan that this is the last round of changes to the calendar.
We know this may create some hardships for families of elementary school and some middle school students. LISD is working on options to provide full day programs for school-aged children at no cost to families that need help to bridge the adjusted calendar gap. More information soon.

Harmon Help
Harmon Help is an after school tutoring program on Tuesday through Thursday each week. We want students to take full advantage of this time with teachers to ensure they are focused and present long enough to make strides in their academic progress.
- Students that self-refer may leave when they have transportation (min of 30 min) or they can stay and catch the bus but must still continue to work
- Students that are referred by a teacher must stay for the entire tutoring time 4:15-5:45 regardless of how they get home.
Bus Transportation
If your student is attending Harmon Help after school Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays there is bus transportation available to get them home.
Parent Pick Up
If you are planning to pick your student up we ask that you drive around to the back of LHS Harmon that faces Old Orchard/Dixon Lane and not pick them up before 5:45pm.
Thank you for your support!

LISD COVID Update - English
Lewisville ISD Families,
We want to take a moment to share information about quarantine procedures and would like to ask for your help. While we are hopeful we will soon turn the corner on the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently experiencing a rising number of cases in our schools and must remain vigilant.
Quarantine Information
We know many students and staff have been impacted by a close contact and have been required to quarantine for 10 days. We do have an update to share about our quarantine policy. The CDC recently developed a test-out-of-quarantine procedure, which LISD has adopted. You can find updated guidance here.
However, since adopting this option, LISD has experienced cases where some students and staff members tested out of quarantine but then later became sick and tested positive on a later day, resulting in additional quarantine and contact tracing for the campus or department.
If you choose to test out of quarantine, we strongly recommend you test on day 7 to maximize the time that the virus may be replicating and cause illness.
Additionally, we know there are home testing kits available; however, those results will not be accepted as we cannot validate if the test was correctly administered and/or if it was administered to the correct person. While we understand the convenience of these tests, in accordance with CDC and TEA guidance, the district can only accept test results that officially reflect the patient's name.
We are pleased to have options for our students and staff and ask for your cooperation as we move forward.
Level Orange and Health Reminders
LISD is operating under Level Orange and will continue in Level Orange for the foreseeable future. We understand these protocols present challenges on many levels, but it is critical we follow health guidelines such as maintaining social distance, wearing a face mask and washing hands regularly. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you stay at home.
As a reminder, a summary of active and new COVID-19 cases in LISD can be found at LISD.net/covidtracker. For information about reporting a lab-confirmed case or exposure, visit LISD.net/covidcase.
If you have questions regarding the district’s quarantine policy, please contact your campus nurse. For questions about Level Orange, please contact your campus administration.
It takes all of us doing our part to help curb the spread of COVID-19 and avoid future school closures.
Thank you for your continued support of Lewisville ISD.
