DECEMBER 21, 2022 - NEWSLETTER
Hello SLP Schools Online Families,
It seems rather appropriate that we will be heading into our winter break with some exciting Minnesota winter weather leading the way. Our winter break begins Friday. There is no school Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 2.
We’ve been working hard implementing a new online learning model. This has required new learning and flexibility on the part of each of us – students, at-home coaches, and learning advocates. I hope you are able to recharge over break by finding the time to do the things that you enjoy with family and friends. We will welcome everyone back to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
A couple additional updates and reminders to share:
- Snow Days and Online: You may have noticed communication to SLP families describing our current response to snow days. There will not be snow days for our SLP Online Elementary students. Regardless of weather, we will continue with our identified daily schedules. If you have questions about what this means for your student(s), please reach out to your learning advocates or to me.
- Attendance: Continue to call the attendance line, 763-600-5209, to report student absences due to illness, appointments, and vacation. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me.
Be safe, stay warm and enjoy the break!
Take care,
Kim Fehringer
Principal of Assignment

Live on 65: Miss Myra and the Moonshiners
Miss Myra and the Moonshiners bring their formidable 5-piece swing band to the Live on 65 stage on January 5 at Spring Lak Park High School. They are the latest to play the Live on 65 performance series that aims to bring world-class entertainment to the North Metro.
Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Spring Lake Park Lion's Club, tickets are priced for the whole family to attend at $12 for adults and $5 for students/children. Purchase tickets online or day-of at the box office.
We recently caught up with Myra Burnette (Miss Myra) to learn more about the band and what Live on 65 audiences can expect. She spoke with us from New Orleans where she is surrounded by guitars, banjos and a sousaphone and playing music with the locals.
