Running Records
Please begin administering the running records in preparation for SLC (Student-led-Conferences). All students are required to have a new score to report to their families.
We will be asking you to submit these scores in order to send an updated data letter to our families during the week of SLCs.
Remember, ALL students will need to have a SLC.
SRI & SMI
Although the SRI & SMI window is in January, I have asked Todd to test students prior to report cards so that your students have updated assessment data to present to their parents during SLCs. We will more than likely begin testing the students upon our return from Thanksgiving Break.

STIP & Guided Reading Time
As agreed and stated in our strategic plan, Ms. Rivas will be working with students directly in supporting their literacy needs.
What are the DOs & DON'Ts of the use of the STIP & Guided Reading Time?
- STIP working in small groups at all times while the general ed teacher is ALSO working with a small group.
- STIP working with mid/high students in order the general ed teacher to provide strategic and intentional literacy support to high need students.
- At NO TIME should the teacher opt out of small groups unless previously approved & communicated to Beatrice.
- STIP sub should NOT be the ONLY adult in the classroom working with small groups at ANY TIME.
- Teacher CANNOT leave the classroom for making copies or getting supplies while Guided Reading is taking place.
- STIP CANNOT grade papers, make copies, do discipline at ANY TIME, especially during Guided Reading time.
