Reminder--Monday Morning Meet in MPR
Regular Schedule= Full Days this Week!
Kindergarten will be on a "regular" schedule from 8:30AM - 2:00PM this week.
- Pack snack AND a lunch!
LunchTime Reminders
During lunch, there is no teacher supervision. Yard Duty is handled by the Parent Volunteers.
Lunch is from 12:00 - 12:40. The students in K-2 sit and eat at tables/benches for the first 20 minutes. They will also be asked to properly dispose of their waste-- compost/recycling/landfill. After 20 minutes, a whistle is blown on the main yard. The second half (12:20 - 12:40) of the lunch period is for play. Kinders stay in the kinder-zone by the small play structure.
Please highlight the idea of sitting for 20 minutes first.
Older students, grades 3-5, have the opposite schedule at the Cat Cafe with play time for the first half and eating/sitting second half.

But.... just in case... consider this a friendly little reminder to get an appointment for next week. Conferences take place September 22- 26 (for All grades).

BACK TO SCHOOL POTLUCK PICNIC (Party at the Park)
Every year, the Dad's Club grills up hotdogs while the families who attend bring a potluck item. It is a great Party at the Park-- the kids have time to play, the parents have time to socialize, and the food keeps everyone happy. There is always plenty to eat and this is great fun for the kids. It is truly a highlight of the start of each school year!
This year, the food assignments are as follows:
Pack it in a disposable container or be sure to label it well and take it home when you leave. Remember to bring a serving utensil if needed for your item. Label this as well.

Fundraising Without the Leg Work!
Washington Elementary is a thriving school community that encourages all families to help supplement school programs through fundraising. Each family is invited to participate at a level which fits their needs and goals.
With that in mind, I'd like to remind you that there are many ways to help contribute to Washington's financial success in the goals we pursue that do not require you to "cut a check". Family Pizza Night is an example of one such event.
Please consider participating in these other opportunities that take advantage of things you already spend money on and require only minimal effort to activate cash flow to Washington. It directly benefits our kids! The so-called "Shop and Earn" opportunities.
