HSBPA'S CASINO NIGHT
Please join us for HSBPA’s Casino Night fundraiser for education! This year’s event will be Wednesday, March 13th from 6:00-9:00pm at The Duck Blind at Olde 41 Banquet Facility.
Advance tickets are $20 each. Tickets are available with cash or check at Kimps Ace Hardware in Howard and at North Shore Bank in Suamico. You may also purchase tickets online.
Casino Night is an electric event featuring casino games, music entertainment, local food samplings, and networking!
All proceeds raised will support the following:
- ACADEMIC AND CAREER PLANNING (ACP)
Funds raised from sponsorships and silent auction will support Academic and Career Planning initiatives in the Howard-Suamico School District, offering customized educational experiences for students as they plan for the future. - THE GIVING TREE
Funds raised from basket raffles will support The Giving Tree in their mission to provide equitable access to food, shelter, transportation, and resources for students and families in the Howard-Suamico School District.
BATTLESHIP TOURNAMENT
YSL is hosting a battleship tournament at Lineville pool on March 19th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. There is an entrance fee of $25 per team. Teams must be at least 3 people and can be no more than 6 people. There will be a prize for the team that wins the entire tournament.
Please fill out this google form if you are interested. (Everyone competing must fill out the form, not just one person from the team.)
SENIOR TRIBUTE YEARBOOK AD
Parents can purchase a tribute for a graduating senior by March 20th. Submit a message and 1-2 photos directly to Jostens at Jostens Ads for publishing in the yearbook.
PLACEMENT TESTING FOR UW SCHOOLS
Placement testing registration for students admitted to a UW school for the Summer or Fall 2024 will begin mid-March. Guaranteed Admission to UWGB for Bay Port Class of 2024!
On March 21st from Pirate Time through the last lunch period, UW-Green Bay (UWGB) will be at Bay Port to help your child apply to UWGB. The best part? Once they apply, they are guaranteed admission and will automatically become at UWGB Phoenix (if not admitted already)!

DUAL CREDIT FAMILY PRESENTATIONS AT NWTC
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s (NWTC) Green Bay Campus is hosting Spring Open House on Thursday, March 21, from 3-6 pm. All families and students are welcome to visit campus and learn about exciting and innovative programming.
***New this year*** Families and students in grades 8-11 are invited to a brief presentation about dual credit programming. Dual credit presentations will last 15 minutes and will be offered at 3:30 pm, 4:15 pm, and 5 pm.

JUNIOR PROM
Date: Saturday, April 13th, 2024
Place: Ledgecrest Reserve (8-11 pm)
Tickets: $21 and will go on sale Monday, March 18th through April 10th at midnight available through GoFan. Only one ticket can be purchased per junior/ID number. If you are bringing someone from a different grade from Bay Port (other than a junior), please reach out to Mrs. Krause with the name of your date/grade, and you will receive a guest code to purchase a ticket for your date.
If you are not able to purchase online and cash or check is your only option, there will be a cash/check purchasing sale window on Wednesday, April 10th and 11th from 2:45-3:15 in Mrs Krause's room (D107). There will be NO tickets for sale at the door. You will not be admitted to the dance without a pre-purchased ticket. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Guest Passes can be picked up at the welcome desk in the rotunda. Guest passes are needed if you are attending the dance with someone who is not a Bay Port student. Parent/guardian signatures are required for you and your guest. Forms are due back to the main office no later than Wednesday, April 10th at 2:45. Once your guest pass has been approved you will be emailed a code to purchase your guest pass on GoFan.
Students who have been suspended or who are considered habitually truant for 30 days prior to the dance will not be allowed to attend. School Board Policy 2500—Attendance: A student will be considered habitual truant if they are absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five(5) or more days, including tardiness, on which school is held during a school semester.

LITERARY ARTS FESTIVAL
Save the date for the Literary Arts Festival on May 24th.
The yearbook staff coordinates a school-wide celebration of texts, poetry, readers, writers, speakers, music, culture, and more. Watch for future announcements for how to participate in this event.
HEAVY METAL SUMMER EXPERIENCE
The Heavy Metal Summer Experience (HMSE) is a FREE 30-hour program introducing high-schoolers and recent graduates (ages 15-19) to union job opportunities in the Mechanical, Sheet Metal & Electrical Construction. Through the 30 hours of training sessions led by construction professionals, participants will learn the basics of Sheet Metal, Piping, Plumbing and Electrical.
HMSE takes place in the offices and shops of premier mechanical & electrical contractors & in the union training centers where participants receive hands-on experience, safety training, and exposure to a wide variety of options open to them in the building trades.
Camp will run from June 10th, 2024 to July 19th, 2024, 2 days a week, from 2:30-5:00 PM.
Camp will be located at Tweet/Garot Mechanical's Wrightstown Facility @ 4001 French Road, Wrightstown.
Transportation will be provided from the Boys & Girls Club at a central location in both the Fox Valley & Green Bay areas.

Attention Parents/Guardians: Emails were sent home Thursday, February 1st, for anyone with a student fee balance. Because we are halfway through the school year, as a courtesy we are also sending home hard copy invoices as well. If you already made your payment in the last day or so, please disregard the statement. If you have not seen it, please check the spam folder in your email.

2023-24 BAY PORT 2ND SEMESTER ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
To help improve student safety and school security, Bay Port continues to be a closed campus during the school day. Only students excused by a parent/guardian or who are participating in a school sponsored activity are allowed to leave and return to school during the school day. Juniors and seniors are able to arrive late or leave early if their day begins or ends with a study hall. PIRATE Time is considered a scheduled class where attendance is required.
Students entering the building after 7:30 am need to use the main entrance and stop at the welcome desk to check in. All absences should be reported to the attendance office by calling 920-662-7248.

THE GIVING TREE
Coming up on April 18, The Giving Tree’s 16th Annual Taste of the Villages and Auction is made possible by the generous donations of our kind and caring community friends like you. Gift certificates, gift cards to restaurants, businesses and events and silent auction items are needed and greatly appreciated. The Taste of the Villages and Auction is the primary fundraiser for The Giving Tree providing school supplies, monthly grocery basics, holiday assistance, field trips, band/orchestra/music expenses and personal care items just to name a few.
If you would like to contribute to the success of this event by making a donation contact The Giving Tree auction team by phone or email to schedule drop off or pick up for gift baskets, raffle donations and gift cards.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS OR DELAYS DUE TO WEATHER
In addition to District Social Media, Local TV/Radio Stations and the District Website, HSSD will also send weather-related delays and cancellations via text message.
ATHLETIC PASSES AND GAME TICKETS
Please use the GoFan app or website for student passes and game tickets for all home games. Once you pull up the pass or ticket from the app/website on your phone, please do not click on use pass or use ticket until you are at the gate with the ticket taker. If you use the ticket before you get to the gate, you will not be able to enter without purchasing another ticket.
You can also purchase tickets at the game using a debit or credit card at the main entrance to the stadium.

There will be road construction taking place throughout the school year on Lineville road.
***IMPORTANT REMINDERS***
Study Hall Reminder: All students are marked absent every morning for their study hall. Students need to sign in to their study hall at the beginning of the period which removes the absence. 11th and 12th grade students are allowed to leave school during their study hall if it starts or ends their day. 9th and 10th grade students must attend all of their study halls, even if the study hall starts or ends their day. This applies to Block Days as well.
Work Permits are Online: Please visit the new online application tool! It is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. A parent can access the site using these instructions.
