December #2
A Note From Miss Caitlyn
Dear Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County 4-H Families,
It is the time of year to spread holiday cheer. A great way to do that is through community service, the Heart in the 4-H's of 4-H! Here are some ways you can give back this season:
- Consider volunteering to maintain a food pantry box. Many hands make light work, so ask a friend to do it with you! (more information below)
- Walk in the North Platte Holiday Downtown parade on December 21st with your 4-H community and spread the word about 4-H in Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County!
- Come to the 4-H Council Dine-Out night fundraiser at Papa Murphy's on December 29th from 5:00-7:00.
See below for more information about each of these opportunities. We love staying connected with you throughout the entire year! Wishing you all Happy Holidays! :)
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns,
Miss Caitlyn

We’re seeking applications for the Omaha Fashion Week 4-H Collection! Selected applicants will model their garments during the Omaha Fashion Week Student Night on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Applications are due Tuesday, Jan. 2. For more details or to apply, visit 4h.unl.edu/ofw.
As you begin making plans for 2024, be sure to check out the Special Garden Project. It offers a unique introduction to plant science. Members are given seeds and guided through planting, growing, and harvesting seasons. Members can exhibit a cut flower or harvested vegetable at the fair if all goes well. Otherwise, youth can share their experience through a poster, story, or video exhibit. Next year, members will work with the PRINCESS INDIA NASTURTIUM. Visit 4h.unl.edu/spg to learn more.
We all know about the 4-H livestock, cooking and sewing projects. But with nearly 50 projects to choose from, there are likely some you aren’t familiar with. These five often-overlooked projects offer real-world skills and unique experiences: go.unl.edu/2nd8.
