College Prep Testing
PSAT
The PSAT will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. All 10th grade students are automatically registered and paid for by Poway Unified. This exam is a great opportunity to find out what you can work on to get the best score possible on the SAT.
Taking the PSAT again during the Junior year can help improve SAT scores and provides entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program.
9th and 11th graders register to take the PSAT by paying $18 to the Finance Office.
Note: 11th graders who are on Free/Reduced Lunch may be able to have their exam fee waived. To request a waiver, please see Miss Hughes in the Counseling Office.
ACT/SAT
Consider taking the SAT and/or ACT tests. Colleges will accept either test and will focus on the higher score. Check with the colleges you are most interested in to see which test they prefer. These tests are not administered during school, so you will need to register for them through their websites. Some SAT dates are available on our campus.
You can find a list of important dates and deadlines to sign up for the ACT and/or SAT on our website here.
