Beginning of His Life
Edgar was born in Boston Massachusetts. He was orphaned at the age of 2 because his mother died and his father left them. He lived with his foster parents in Richmond, Virginia. He was eventually disowned by his family because of disputes.
His Adult Life
Edgar moved around alot because of his job. He never had an exact place where he lifed for a long period of time. He started to write poetry and got 57 of his poems published in his lifetime. Most of his poems were grusem and were about his loved ones being taken away from him. One of his most famous poems "The Raven" was even made into a movie.

Interesting Facts
Edgar Allan Poe was an alcholic . He went to The University of Virginia when he was 17 years old after leaving his adoptive family in England. He went into the army when he was 18 years old.
His Death
Edgar Allan Poes death stil remains a mystery. He died in a hospital on October 7, 1894.
