Jefferson HS Supported Democracy in 2018
The library hosted the Midterm Student Election Simulation, which began on on the first day of early voting to promote getting out the vote. Every teacher participated bring over 1700 students through the library for computerized voting using Google Docs that replicated the ballot for a resident of 723 Donaldson Ave., including our highly contentious City Charter Amendments. A huge thank you goes out to all Social Studies teachers for giving students a chance to practice voting!
A final shout out goes to Mr. Escamilla for organizing a field trip for our students to early vote. What an amazing moment! The Jefferson tradition of public service and engagement in our political process continues.
