Connecting with the Counselors
A Communication from Robinson Elementary's Counseling Team
March 6, 2022
We hope your first weekend of March was enjoyable. We can't believe that it is already March! Soon it will be Spring Break, and following that break, our school year always seems to wrap up very fast.
We were able to teach counseling lessons to ALL Robinson students with the exception of preschool. As we shared in January, we have been given 2 days each month to teach our classroom lessons. This time is being set aside and our other duties are being covered when possible by other adults, postponed, or altogether missed.
We hope you heard about your student's time with the counselors last week!
Maybe you heard about bubble gum or brick brain from your kindergarten, first, or second grader? Maybe they shared with you the power of yet? Or if you have a 3rd grader, you may have learned about your technology tail and how to get a scratch or a hole on it? Our older students all learned about the story of Sam, who was known for her bully-like behaviors at school because someone else was mistreating her. We were reminded that "hurt people hurt people."
Our fifth graders were visited by Nipher this week! Look for more on this below. If you need any information at all about the Nipher transition, please contact Julie Cohen.
Parent-teacher conferences are coming up soon! If a member of our counseling team is present, we are there to listen or to give an update or information about a Social Emotional Learning or Behavior Intervention. If you want one of us to join you at your conference, please reach out.
REMINDER: Our Connecting with the Counselors is a monthly update. If we have important information to share between messages, Dr. OH will include it in her weekly family newsletter.
If you missed February's communication, you can access it from this link:
Have a fantastic week and a marvelous rest of March. Look for our April update around the 2nd.

Nipher Visited Robinson 5th Graders!
During their time with us they shared some fun facts about 6th grade as seen in the picture above. In addition to what was presented, 5th graders asked some very good questions about things like how many teachers most students will have-- 7! As well as what happens if you have trouble with a locker. Lockers are TBD due to no locker use this year. One benefit of no lockers? A much smaller amount of tardies!
