Testing
Our 8th grade students did an amazing job on PSAT day. We had 98% in attendance, 100% participation, and nearly all students had charged chromebooks. Thank you to all of our 8th graders and 8th grade parents. Way to go, Tigers!
Next up is MSTEP this Tuesday and Thursday morning. Again, please remember to charge your chromebooks, have a good night's rest, and eat a healthy breakfast.
Yearbook Orders
Per the PTO
Here is this years yearbook order info & DEADLINE which will be here before you know it. If you're not sure if you ordered or not you'll need to search your email account for ANY confirmation from Lifetouch or Shutterfly regarding past orders. Click the link in any of those emails & follow it to your account. Please DO NOT call the office asking if you've placed this years order(s) or not. The FAPS staff does not have access to who has ordered until ordering has closed & PTO is able to print the confirmation list. PTO will order a limited amount of extras to sell at a slightly higher price which will be on a 1st come basis. Your best bet it to order ahead.
Delivery will be prior to the last day of school but unfortunately due to all class trips being so late in the year they will not be in this year's book. I will do my best to get spring sports included but could use a few parents from each spring team to help me with this. If you're that parent & could help please email me mtodorovsky@fentonschools.org
Thank you everyone for helping add pictures to Photocircle. PTO was able to use a lot of them!
Positivity Project - Purpose
WHAT DOES CONNECTION/PURPOSE MEAN?
You have beliefs about the meaning of life
and your life’s purpose. You seek to be part
of something greater than yourself.
Purpose gives individuals the sense that they are put on
this earth for a reason and that they are somehow
connected with humanity or the universe. People who
possess a sense of purpose believe that they were put on
earth for a reason. That reason can have all kinds of
variety. It could be to create a unique invention, to bring joy
through art or music, or to raise their children to become
good people. These people have a true calling.
One of the most insightful and impactful researchers of this
strength was Viktor Frankl, the author of Man’s Search for
Meaning. Frankl analyzed and wrote about his experiences
in Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.
Frankl’s experiences taught him that purpose provides
strength and that “Those who have a ‘why’ to life, can bear
with almost any ‘how’.”
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Having a clear sense of purpose in life, and a belief that
you’re connected to a larger meaning, gives individuals
strength. It allows them to persevere and find courage in
trying circumstances or lead with kindness and love even
when it’s not reciprocated. Those with a sense of purpose
have more meaning in their life — and are more fulfilled.
On a group level, purpose can be a powerful aligning
element. It gives people a reason to continue on in hope
and optimism, despite difficult circumstances. The sense of
connection between people further strengthens their
individual resolve and focus, which fortifies the group.
When a group of individuals believe in something higher
than themselves, their work can be exponentially greater.
“Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose
and direction.”

Dimes for Diapers
It’s that time of year! The Dimes for Diapers campaign is kicking off on April 1st thru April 30th. Every penny raised is used to buy diapers for families who might otherwise find it difficult to purchase something so essential for their children. Collection cans will be around the building! Your generosity can help change a baby!
Summer EBT Information
To receive the Summer EBT benefit, every family must have an approved student eligibility benefit (free or reduced) through their school. Households may need to complete and submit the School Meals and Summer EBT Application. Families will need to turn in this form ahead of count day to receive benefits over the summer. Count day is February 14, 2024.
LINK to Form: https://fenton.familyportal.cloud/
Eligibility Overview
Summer EBT benefits are available for eligible households based on their student eligibility status (free or reduced). This can be from direct certification, categorical eligibility, or from the School Meals and Summer EBT Application.
What is Summer EBT?
As part of our collaborative efforts to enhance USDA's summer nutrition programs, the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program for Children (Summer EBT) will officially launch in summer 2024. Summer EBT provides grocery-buying benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. More than 29 million children across America could benefit from Summer EBT.
