There are many opportunities to be a part of this production. In some years the majority of the 6th grade class formed choral parts of the show! No prior musical training required. Calling All STEAM Experts! (repeated)
We're excited to be bringing back the District 101/WSFEE STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) Night this year! The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 9, from 5:30-8:00pm. It's held at McClure Junior High, and consists of a variety of hands-on, STEAM experiences for children (in grades K-8) to enjoy.
Are you a parent with a background in one of these areas? Would you be interested in helping our D101 students learn more about one of the aspects of STEAM? We would LOVE to invite some parents (or other family connections) to help make this event even better, by sharing your passion for STEAM with others!
If you are interested in participating, please reach out to me for more information!

Counseling Corner
It’s the merriest time of the year, for some, but not for all. When talking to a student who had lost a family member, I was recently reminded that although the holidays bring a lot of joy, they can also be hard for many. It can be a stressful time of year for parents, with the pressure to buy gifts, plan parties, and ensure everyone is happy. For others, it can remind them of family members or friends who are no longer around or of difficult circumstances like navigating divorced households, strained relationships with extended family, etc. It can also be a time of loneliness for those who don't have family or friends to celebrate with. Regardless of the specifics, it’s always good to remind our kids to be kind and generous, give love, give help, and, if nothing else, just don’t give people a hard time.

Summer Brader Photography
Family Photographer – Available in Chicago and Suburbs
NO ONE WANTS BORING PHOTOS. You are unique. You are moms-to-be; new and experienced
parents; you stay home with your kids; you are working and all of you are amazing. You work
hard. You play hard. You love hard. Why not show all of that off?
As the unique people you are, would you be happy with the same old staged poses and fake
smiles hanging on your wall that your parents had? I didn’t think so. Let’s make sure you have a
fun, relaxed session so you will have something magical to share and hang on your walls unlike
anything else.
Be silly. Be fun.
Be different. Be authentic.
Be YOU because life is too short to be anything else.
