The History of Rock and Roll
A NEW Class for the 2016-2017 School Year!
What's it all about?
We're studying rock music.
We'll focus on the music and musicians who pioneered rock and roll and brought it into the mainstream. We will also cover the social, political, and economic factors that merged to help create this unique art form.
By the end of the class, you'll be able to analyze and judge aspects of rock and roll music, identify the sound and style of the most significant artists of each decade, and be able to describe their impact on society from the 1950's to the present.
Credits and Class Time
The History of Rock and Roll is a 1 credit course that will run 6 days a cycle.
This class is open to all grade levels.
What's involved?
This class will be interactive. We will use audio and video records to experience each of the artists we discuss. Classes will blend lecture with discussion, individual assignments, and group projects.
