Wonder
- Wonder is one of Oro Grande Classical Academy's virtues. One definition is the desire to be curious or know about something. That desire for learning can be demonstrated for children by discussing the things that are seen, heard and felt on a daily basis. If adults wonder out loud, children will begin to do the same.
- This month in the classrooms, I will be teaching and reviewing the Please and Thank You Tool as well as the Apology and Forgiveness Tool. These ideas open up conversations around, "I wonder how the other person feels/felt." By showing children that others have feelings too, we can encourage them to be kind, understand everyone makes mistakes and how to forgive others.
🙂 Exceptional Eagles 🙂
I've decided to give a shout out to some students who make great choices. Thanks to Luke (Mrs. Dionne's class) for being so polite and kind to me when I was asked to cover that classroom for a short time on Tuesday. Thanks to Gunnar (Mrs. Rangel's class) for asking some questions in a calm, respectful way that was exceptional. There was a lot of excitement in his class on Tuesday and he listened very carefully to the staff. Bradley (Mrs. Jaynes' class) answered questions when I was in his class on Wednesday. He showed patience by raising his hand and thought before he spoke.
Students named monthly in this newsletter can stop by my office for a small token of my appreciation.
Worry Worms
It's spring so you may see your student with a worm! Each year I have crocheted worry worms for the third grade students. Worry worms are a fidget toy that doesn't make any noise. 😊
