2024 Library Voting Information
The school district is including two items for the Schuylerville Public Library on the ballot for consideration by residents:
The first is an election for the Library’s Board of Trustees and is separate and distinct from Schuylerville Central School District’s budget and Board of Education’s elections. The Schuylerville Public Library is holding elections for three seats on its Board of Trustees this year. The three candidates who receive the highest total number of votes cast in their favor shall each fill a three-year term ending in 2027, created by the expiration of the current terms of Trustees Dennis Kagel, Patricia Partello and Katie Brunson.
For those interested in running for a trustee position, please follow the instructions on the petition form.
The second item to be decided on by voters is the $12,000 increase to the Schuylerville Public Library’s annual budget appropriation, which would be a total of $377,000 annually. The increase will allow the Library to maintain its resources with rising costs. The Schuylerville Public Library is committed to offering unique and educational programs for the community. Each year the Library hosts hundreds of programs and serves thousands of people. All of its programs and exhibitions are free and open to the public. Ready Set Grow! Garden Program for Kids
Ready Set Grow is a garden themed program that aims to inspire a love for nature while fostering a sense of responsibility and curiosity in young minds. Meetings will be from 11am-12pm on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from May through August.
Throughout our meetings, we’ll dive into various gardening topics, including seed starting, soil preparation, plant care, composting, and even the fascinating world of beneficial insects and pollinators. Children will have the chance to get their hands dirty, planting seeds and watching them sprout into beautiful plants right before their eyes.
So, whether your child is a budding horticulturalist or simply curious about the natural world, our Ready Set Grow program offers a fantastic platform for them to explore, learn, and grow. Let’s get ready to dig in, nurture our gardens, and watch our dreams take root!

Staff Picks
Question of the Month!
With May being National Cheese Month, this month we asked the staff, "What is your favorite type of cheese?"
Caitlin: "My faves are mozzarella and burrata."
Julie: "I love a good asiago!"
Holly: "That question is nearly impossible to answer. I refuse! It's like asking me to pick a favorite child!"
Emilly: "There's so much good cheese! I really love fontina, asiago, and brie."
Jessica: "Cabot Seriously Sharp!"
Beth: "A Vermont Cheddar, the sharper the better! And also feta."
Brandi: "Cheddar is always better!"
MaryLou: "My absolute favorite is St. Andre French Triple Creme but I hardly ever have it because it is very pricey. It is a 'special' treat at holiday time or for a very special occasion."
