Principal's Message
Dear WES Families,
It has been our pleasure to have the opportunity to serve you and your children this year at Worthington Estates. In this final update of the year unlike any other, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our families and staff members. It truly has been a team effort to navigate this year and provide in the best ways possible for our students here at Worthington Estates.
We have been through remote learning, hybrid learning, and all-in with many transitions in between. At the end of the year we are proud of our students, their gains, and their perseverance.

Dates to Know
May 22-23: Fun Day 5K
May 25: 5th and 6th Grade Picnic
May 26: Fantastic Fun Day / 5th and 6th Grade Clap Out / Last Day of Classes
Fantastic FUN Day!
The WES tradition of closing the school year out with Fantastic Fun Day will continue this year! Fantastic Fun Day will be held on the last day of school, May 26th.
Please be reminded of the following:
- Wear closed toed shoes - no sandals or Crocs!
- Students should wear their tie dyed shirts they created here at school
- Students are encouraged to wear sunscreen, have a towel, and bring a water bottle
Our event will look slightly different this year, but it will still be plenty of fun! In order to allow for social distancing, grades 3-6 will participate in outdoor-only activities from 8:30-11am and grades K-2 will participate in activities from 11:30-2pm.
Masks are still required at school and during our Fun Day. We will provide plenty of opportunity for distanced mask breaks and hydration.
More shifts added for Fantastic Fun Day! If you haven't had the opportunity to sign up for a shift yet, we recently made space for more people to volunteer at the link below! Note: If you already signed up for a shift, we are still trying to stay limited to one shift per adult at this time. This fun-filled, end-of-the-year event is set for Wednesday, May 26th, but we need lots of help to make it happen! Each year, we ask for both volunteers and donations to make this day a success. You can find opportunities to volunteer and donate items at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f44acae2aa4f49-wesfantastic
Clap Out - 5th/6th Grade Parents
We are excited to celebrate our 5th and 6th grade students concluding their time in elementary school and here at Worthington Estates. On May 26th, we will be holding a clap out of the building beginning promptly at 2:15.
Families are welcome to attend the event to celebrate with their child. Included in the link below you will find a map and additional information regarding the clap out. Please pay special attention to locations for parents to line up for each grade level. Students will be clapped out inside of the building by younger students and staff and will exit through the main front doors to attending parents.
5th/6th Clap Out Map and Procedures
All attendees MUST wear a mask and observe 6 feet of distancing between themselves and other groups.
Students may leave the event with a parent or guardian if they filled out permission in advance or take their usual mode of transportation home. Please be sure to submit the form shared by your child's teacher indicating how your child will get home.
Should we have inclement weather, we will provide advanced notice of cancellation.
5th and 6th Grade Picnic
Should you want your child to bring an alternative food option, they are welcomed to do so.
The burgers will be part of a "Local Sourcing" pilot that will happen in conjunction with the 5th/6th grade cookout at Estates on May 25th. We are pleased to be able to provide a locally sourced beef patty for this event from TS farms located in New Vienna Ohio .
This is the 1st of what will be several "Local" promotions occurring in the district as we are forming partnerships with Local Food Connection and What Chefs Want.
Fun Day Dairy Queen
Should you not want your child to receive ice cream on Fun Day, please let your child's homeroom teacher know.
Fun Day 5K
Please join us for a fun, safe event to kick off the last week of school! We are inviting families to time the race on their own and celebrate the end of another great year at WES. We will have the courses marked and ready starting at 7am on Saturday, May 22 and concluding at 7pm on Sunday, May 23. Both courses will be marked with directional arrows and chalk on the streets and course maps can be found below and near the starting line. Please note, this is a virtual race, so it can be completed with your family safely at any time throughout the weekend!
