Welcome Back to School!
Dear Kimball Hill Families,
The first day of school is quickly approaching! It is hard to believe it is already August! I hope you all had a nice and relaxing summer vacation! We are so excited to welcome all students back to in-person learning in a couple weeks. Students in grades 1-6 will return to school on Wednesday, August 18th. Kindergarten and Pre-school classes will begin Thursday, August 19th. Details will be provided soon.
Meet the Teacher, at this time will be in person on Tuesday, August 17th at 8:30-9:30am. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and learn about the expecations for the school year and see the classroom. If you are unable to make this event, please feel free to email your child's teacher at a later time. School supply lists are available on our district website.
All teacher assignments will be available in your parent portal on August 5th at 5:00pm. Due to balancing of classrooms, we will be unable to make any teacher changes. I can assure you that your child will be in good hands. All of our teachers are committed to maintaining a safe and warm environment for all students.
We are excited to share that during the summer months at Kimball Hill, our school's HVAC and lighting system has been completely replaced. We have painted many classrooms and updated our LRC books. Our custodians have been working extra hard deep cleaning all areas of our school and beautifying our school grounds. A big thank you to the Cub Scouts for creating and installing a lending library and bench outside our front entrance. This is for parents to borrow and return books for our children to read at home.
I am so excited to meet our new and returning families at Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 17th from 8:30am to 9:30 am. More details will be shared as we get closer to the event date.
As an FYI- our school district is currently finalizing our district wide procedures in regards to Covid-19 (masking, temperature checks, physical distancing, self certification) and will communicate them before the school year begins.
Please feel free to email me at any time with questions or concerns. I look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child has a positive, successful school year!
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera
