Dear Helman families,
We are so excited to welcome some of our students back on campus for full days next week! Our school day will be 8:30 - 2:50 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Regardless of the program that you chose, Wednesdays will remain remote and the morning meeting (8:30-9:15) is designated as a time for the whole classroom community to come together for connection. We will also use Wednesdays as a chance to have whole school events and assemblies. All students are welcome to join Wednesday Zoom social times and clubs (see below) as a way to connect with the larger school community.
There is a lot of important information included in the Hybrid Expectations PDF below. Please read it carefully and discuss with your child. Teachers have also reviewed this information with their class.
Thank you so much for your incredible support of our students and staff. We are so very grateful for your continued flexibility, grace, and understanding.
All the best,
Michelle Cuddeback
Principal
Zoom Social Time!

Students can come and share their latest Lego creations, introduce their pets, or show their artwork to other Helman students, and they can stay for as long or as little of the meeting time as they want.
There will be a five-minute break between clubs, but students who want to go to more than one club meeting are welcome to hang out in the Zoom room.
Zoom social times: Wednesdays from 9:15 to 9:30 and 12:00 to 12:30.
These clubs can be found through the Zoom link for socials on the Helman School Canvas page.

Times will be communicated from Janet, Jackie, or Amy and Zoom links will be available in their new CDL Canvas Course.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up Changes Starting April 26
With this increase in traffic we are stepping up our traffic controls to ensure our entire community can arrive and depart as safely as possible. Traffic "lanes" will be designated with cones on Randy Street. School staff will direct traffic, releasing cars when they see it is clear to do so. Randy Street is the busiest area. Please use extreme caution when exiting the pick-up lane and please follow our staff directions.
Most class pick-up and drop-off zones will remain the same, but there are a few changes. Please review the following information carefully. You should have received your child's specific information in the mail along with another name placard.
Student Drop-off
All students are dropped off at their class assigned zone.

ASF’s 2021 Annual Fund Drive Happening Now!
ASF’s 2021 Annual Fund Drive kicks off tomorrow, April 10th!
Our Ashland Schools Foundation (ASF) supports all the public schools in our district with funds that make their way onto campus and into our classrooms. This year, the foundation gave a record number of grants (nearly 50!) to support our teachers as they found new and creative ways to engage students! They also provided the district with 50 distance learning devices like laptops and iPads, purchased the large tents for outdoor classrooms you’re seeing on our campuses, and many other items too numerous to list!
A gift in any amount goes a long way toward ensuring we can meet the needs of all our students, and continue providing the excellent (and fun!) educational opportunities our Ashland community of schools is known for. You can donate and see the grants awarded to our school so far this year at AshlandSchoolsFoundation.org – or just text the letters, ASF to 72572 to make a donation.
