About the Author
Mark Strand studied paintings until turning to poetry in his twenties. Strand's early poetry explores consciousness and deeply focused on observing the world as well as understanding the darker aspects of life. He won the Pulitzer Prize for one of his more recent volumes of poetry,''A Blizzard Of One''.
I am a new man. I snarl at her and bark.
This means that he feels confident that he knows poetry. So he yells at the librarian.
The poems are gone. The light is dim.
This means that the poems are gone, so that means that their would be a depressing day or weekend. Also it could mean that anything could be gone then that means you would be very depress.
