Happy March is Reading Month and March Mathness!
We are so excited to be engaged in “One Book, One School.” This awesome initiative is a month-long, school-wide celebration of being a community of readers. Each family should have received the book, Charlotte’s Web, and a letter explaining the project. If you have any questions, or did not receive the book, please contact your child’s teacher.
This week we have been engaged in March Mathness. This has been an intense focus on ST Math, including Spirit Days and even a visit from Jiji! The students have been working so hard on increasing their progress on ST Math. Ask your child about ST Math and let their teacher know if you have any questions.
Did you know that Trimester Two is ending? Report cards will be viewable next Friday on Skyward. If you are unsure how to view the report card, or would like a paper copy sent home, please contact the office. Later this month, you will have an opportunity to have a conference with your child’s teacher. Conferences will be scheduled directly with the teacher. Conferences are such an important time to strengthen our partnership for your child’s learning! If you haven’t scheduled a conference yet, please do so as soon as possible.
I am so proud of Davisburg students! They continue to amaze me with the growth they are making as learners and leaders. What an awesome opportunity I have to be part of their lives! Thank you for sharing your child with us every day!
Truly,
Denise Kott

ST Math Update
Our students are increasing their math perseverance and stamina for problem solving ST Math puzzles. We are bringing excitement and joy and a little friendly competition by participating in March Mathness. We are rocking it out, this year. We currently have 428,575 puzzles completed. Last year we had 510,179 TOTAL for the YEAR! Way to go Davisburg, keep up the great work!
We are also proud that we have 38 students who are “finished” with their puzzle progress for the year and it’s only the beginning of March!Davisburg Elementary Annual Education Report
Leader in Me & Core Compentencies
The Leader in Me Section: Habit 6 Synergize
Synergizing means together is better. Synergy is achieved through two or more people working together to create a better solution than either would have thought of alone. It’s not your way or my way, but a better way. An important part of being able to synergize is the ability to value differences and diversity in thinking.
Ways to practice Synergy at home: Cook a meal together and assign everyone a job to do, work together to plan a fun afternoon that everyone can enjoy, or create/build something new.
