SBA testing dates
Each spring, our studnets in Grade 3-5 participate in the Smarter Balanaced Assessment (SBA) which is administered all over the country. This assessment measures student's achievement towards grade level standards. The test window is set by OSPI and then we develop our schedule as a school. Students are testing in both English-Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics (Math). Grade 5 also participates in a Science assessment. All the testing is completed on their computers.
Below you will find the testing dates for each grade level. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS! It is extremely important that students are at school and on-time on these dates.

Northshore School District Preschool Programs
NORTHSHORE SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR!
Northshore preschool programs are now enrolling children, ages 3-5. The preschool years are among the most critical in a child's life that influence learning. The Northshore School District is committed to providing the support that our youngest learners need to prepare them to succeed in school, cultivate friendships, and create a sense of community and belonging. The district proudly offers a variety of inclusive general education learning environments.
Available preschool programs include both FREE and tuition-based options.
FREE Programs: Head Start and Ready Start
Eligibility is determined by the child’s age, family income, and opportunity gaps. These programs are located at Sorenson Early Childhood Center, Woodmoor Elementary, and Arrowhead Elementary Spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis for eligible families. Families are encouraged to complete an application as soon as possible. The information on the application is confidential and used only to determine a child’s eligibility for the programs. The District does not require, check, or report on immigration or DSHS status. View the applications for income-eligible free preschool.
Tuition Programming
The Ready Start programs are located at Sorenson Early Childhood Center and Woodmoor Elementary. Spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Families are encouraged to complete an application as soon as possible. View the application for tuition-based programs.

Cottage Lake Track & Field
COTTAGE LAKE TRACK AND FIELD 2024
Coaches: Mrs. Arrivey and Ms. Castillo
Track and field is open to all students in grades 3-5. It is a fun way to be introduced to the sport and learn new skills! Please return the 2nd and 3rd page of this packet and register online. Contact Mrs. Arrivey karrivey@nsd.org or Ms. Castillo ccastillo@nsd.org with any questions.
Participants must register online at https://schoolsales.nsd.org. You will register using Touchbase - if you need your login information, please contact Mrs. McKinnon or Ms. Negrin). Fee is $45; scholarships available if needed
Practices/Meets:
- Practices: Mon, Wed and Thurs during lunch recess beginning April 15
- Students will meet in the gym or playground.
- Wear appropriate running attire and bring a water bottle.
- Athletes will get a Cottage Lake shirt (returned at end of season).
The following events are offered:
Running events: 50 yd Dash, 75 yd Dash, 440 yd Run, 4x50 Relay
Field Events: High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Ball Throw, Ball Kick
Transportation:
Participants must provide their own transportation to and from meets. Meets begin at 5:00 pm (5:30 FOR JO meet) and are usually over around 6:00/6:30 pm depending on schools/participants.

You are invited to Woodinville High School's My First Formal Dance: “A Night in Neverland”.

The My First Formal dance will feature dancing, face painting, games, your favorite Neverland characters, and so much more!
Tickets: We recommend pre-registering HERE to save money and guarantee your tickets. All proceeds from the event will support Woodinville High School's Class of 2025 and help subsidize important programming associated with graduation, like Senior Prom and the Senior Graduation Breakfast.
Dance Attire: Traditionally, this dance has been "formal" attire, often aligned with the theme of the dance. However, whatever you and/or your child(s) feels comfortable with wearing is best!

Kindergarten Registration for 2024-2025
Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year is OPEN! We are looking for all prospective Kindergarten students. All enrollment is completed online. Directions on how to enroll, including what documentation is required, can be found on the District enrollment webpage.
If you need help enrolling your child or children for school, please contact your child’s future school for enrollment information and support. Your neighborhood school is based on your home address. You can find your child’s neighborhood school by using the Address Look Up Tool.

STEAM Fair – March 15
Thank you to all our budding scientists, technologists, engineers, artists, mathematicians (and their grownups) for all the work you put into the big event! It was a huge success! We hope you had fun exploring new topics and bringing curiosity to life.
We also want to thank our special guests Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, Swerve Robotics, and the Burke Museum for their interactive displays.
And most of all, we want to send a huge thank you to our STEAM Fair committee, our donors, and our volunteers, who make PTA events like this possible. We couldn’t do it without you!
Garden Club
We are excited to announce the CLE Garden Club will be starting after spring break every Friday during lunch recess! Activities we will explore during Garden Club include growing fruit and vegetables, garden scavenger hunts and other fun garden science activities. We are so happy our community partner Farmer Frog will be back again this year to help host our Garden Club! Yearbook Photos Needed
Yearbook Photos Due April 1 - and that is no joke!
March is the last month to upload photos for the school yearbook. Drop them on our Yearbook photo file share so we can capture those memories for our kids. We're starting to create yearbook layout pages so upload them while you can!
Our amazing yearbook designer will be aging out of Cottage Lake this year. She's looking for an apprentice to help out with this year's edition and take over next year. Interested? Contact president@cottagelakepta.org to let us know.
