It's Time for a Deck Party As We Set Sail With Another "Ama-SEA-ng" Theme!
Lighthouse Team and Theme Team Communication:
When Planning the Walls in Your Rooms:
Something to keep in mind when decorating your rooms - please designate a consolidated location in your room for the required Leader In Me items (Everything in one place). We have a lot of visitors in and out of our building throughout the year. This will make it easy for our guests to see all of the #GREATNESS going on in your classrooms.
Required Items:
· Mission Statement
· Respect Agreement
· 7 Habits
· Class Jobs
· Attendance Tracker
· Teacher WIG
· Quality Tools (You will get these at a later date)
· Trust Behavior Poster (You will get this a later date)
· Leave a little space to grow and add different things throughout the year
ALSO, be sure your area is labeled. (Examples: #7HillsLeads, Greatness Happens Here, We are ABOVE the rest, STAR Leadership, Lighthouse Leaders, etc.)
Deck Party:
Last Year's Friday Night Lights decorating party was such a success, we are on repeat again this year! We cannot wait for the fun this Friday! When you finish your district PD, head back to 7 Hills and we will get the party started!
The fish are being cut as we speak. The planning for the coral reef is coming together. The beaches are going to need to be sanded. The palm trees will need to be made. The sea creatures will need creating. There is MUCH to be done to make the halls come to life. We even brought a teacher out of retirement!
Remember, families are invited. The school is providing sandwiches. There is a sign up for chips, drinks, and desserts. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0E4BACA82AA46-adventure
It's Really All About the Shirts!
We have 2 staff shirts this year! Shirt pricing will be sent next week. These will be the Wednesday shirts. The shirts have been ordered for all staff. Once pricing has been sent, all staff will pay Lacy.
Staff will be given a student shirt for field trips, Fridays, etc.
All shirts are pictured below.

Campus and District Announcements and Updates:
- Furniture: In order to keep our furniture looking new forever (because this is a gift we may never receive again), please: Do not write directly on the desks or tables with Expo markers; Do not affix name tags, stickers, etc., etc., etc. etc. to the desks, tables, chairs, “lily pad” seats; The furniture is a class set. Do not move furniture in, out or between rooms; Some rooms are still missing a few pieces of furniture. Yes, we know what is missing. Yes, there is a plan to get these pieces. The furniture will arrive the weekend of the 17th. Do not bring personal furniture items back into classrooms unless it is shelving, and you have approved it with Blackburn. The only items allowed were those that were approved at the end of the year. These included shelving and one chair (rocking chair, author chair, etc.). Thank you for helping us set and maintain the standard for furniture at Seven Hills. J.
- Trash: The custodians are busy completing summer cleaning. They ARE NOT cleaning rooms, emptying trash, etc. Be proactive and remember, you are in charge of you. If you have trash, boxes, etc. you need to be responsible for your mess. Please do not leave this for the custodians. It will slow down the summer cleaning process, creating additional delays and problems. NOTHING should be placed on the stage! Move unwanted items to a corner of your room. More details will be coming. Do NOT leave trash, boxes, or unwanted items in the halls outside of your classroom OR in the area with the large trash cans. Take trash to the dumpsters. . Thank you in advance for helping us manage the back to school cleaning process.
- Amazon Wishlists: Please make sure you have read and are familiar with the NISD policy on Amazon wish lists sent in an email from Kim Blackburn on Friday, August 1.
- Campus Wish List Items: In May, Wilma offered staff an opportunity to create wishlists of classroom items they would want in the even there were funds available. Please remember that funds were very limited at the end of the year last year. GREAT NEWS! Wilma was able to fulfil SOME of the wishlist items for staff. You will find those items in your mailboxes and in classrooms beginning early next week.
