LET'S TALK
Last March, the school district softly rolled out a new communication tool called Let's Talk. Let’s Talk makes it easy for parents, students, staff, and community members to ask questions, request information, and share feedback. Over the summer, we added topics for each of our schools. See this blog post to learn more and view a short video that explains how easy it is to use Let's Talk. Please click HERE to use Let's Talk.

SCHOOL HOUSE SAVINGS IS BACK! đź’˛
For those who don’t know, School House Savings is a school-based savings program sponsored by National Bank of Middlebury and run by volunteers. Students can “bank” at school on Banking Days every Monday from 7:30 to 8:00am at a table outside the cafeteria. We accept all deposits from as small as a penny!
Enrolling is easy! Just pick up a form on Banking Day to complete and sign and return to the school, or enroll online. The bank deposits the first dollar into your child’s savings account. Once enrolled, students can add to their savings account each banking day. Everyone who deposits during the month is entered into a drawing for $5 as an incentive to save. It’s never too early to save for the future!

CHESS CLUB SIGN UP
For the first time ever Hinesburg Community School has a Chess Club! The first session has been a tremendous success and session 1 is finishing up November 7th. The new session will begin December 5th. If your child is currently in Chess Club and wishes to continue, you will need to fill out the sign up form again. Due to an overwhelming interest, we are limiting the club size to 40 participants this time around. Once we have 40 students signed up, we will close the sign up link.
We meet on Mondays from 3-4:00 in the middle school. Chess Club players can be picked up at 4:00 or take the late bus home. The link to sign up is here.
GRADE 6 STUDENTS LEARNING ABOUT STORMWATER
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
Our Lost and Found collection is overflowing! Please stop by the school if your child is looking for lost items. We have water bottles, lunch boxes, shoes, and OVER 50 sweatshirts, fleeces and shirts. Items not claimed by the Thanksgiving Break will be donated to a local organization.
CVSD STRATEGIC PLANNING
We recently held a number of strategic planning community forums to gain insight from all members of our community and inform the district's work over the next 5 years. We have extended the deadline for the strategic planning survey to November 11.
We hope to hear from even more community members, staff, and students! https://bit.ly/CVSDOct22
GRADE 7 & 8 STUDENTS STUDYING SOUND VIBRATIONS
CVU THEATER PRESENTS: AMELIE 11/11 - 11/13
Join us in Paris….via the CVU main stage…for Amélie.
Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy and mayhem. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart. Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner.
Showtimes are Friday, November 11th at 7pm, Saturday, November 12th at 2pm and again at 7pm, and Sunday, November 13th at 2pm at the CVU theater. Purchase tickets ahead of time online at: https://www.ticketsource.us/cvutheater or at the door the day of the performance. Be sure to check the ticket site to see if the show is sold out. $10 General Admission; $8 Students/Children/Staff. All ages show.
