Volunteers Needed: Logs with holes drilled for K-5 Science
We are looking for volunteers to support a fungus growing experiment for K-5 science students. As an OCEAN team, we will be studying northwest trees, their habitat and the plants and animals that live around them. We will be conducting experiments and trying to grow fungus in the classroom and at home. Can you help with this hands-on-science project?
- 45 poplar or other soft hardwood species
- 4' in length
- 4" or more in diameter
- Drill 5 holes in each log ( each hole being 1" deep and 5/16" in diameter)
If you are willing to help with any part of this project, let MB Armstrong know: marmstrong@ptschools.org. Even if you can supply the logs OR drill the holes it would allow this project to move forward! Timeline = before December.
Thanks so much and I look forward to working with you, rolling up our sleeves and engaging in hands-on learning! MB
