MESSAGE FROM THE CCS ADMINISTRATION
Good Afternoon CCS Families, Caregivers and Charlotte Community,
We’d like to welcome everyone back from their February break. As always it was great to have student and staff energy back in the building. With the mix of sun, rain and maybe some future snow, March is here! A lot has happened in the last week, both challenges and celebrations.
Tuesday evening the voters of CVSD voted down the proposed budget. We recognize the impact that budget cuts will have on our daily operations and the services. We understand that this is a challenging moment for all of us and keeping our students at the heart of what we do is essential. Please know that CVSD is actively working on a new budget proposal, which will go before the school board at a special meeting on Tuesday, March 12th. We want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work each of our staff puts into ensuring our students receive the best education possible. Their commitment does not go unnoticed.
Now more than ever, we need to embrace our core tenets of taking care of ourselves, taking care of others and taking care of this place.
Thank you for the commitment to CCS and our dedication to students,
The CCS Administration

WHOLE SCHOOL MEETING 3/8/24
Our CCS 4th graders led our whole school morning meeting today. They shared a poem collectively written called Where I Am From at CCS. Some excerpts include:
- We are from the quote of our building. Take care of yourself, take care of each other, and take care of this place.
- We are from the trees that give us shade.
- We are pizza for lunch on Thursdays and donuts for snack on Friday.
The 4th graders wrapped up the morning meeting by leading a game of Animal Master where staff and students from kindergarten to 8th grade played a game similar to rock, paper, scissors where the animal master would be a moose, snake, lion, and shark. Then if you matched the animal as the master, you sat down. Thank you 4th graders for a fun morning meeting!

INTRA-DISTRICT K-8 SCHOOL CHOICE - DEADLINE APRIL 1
Children entering grades K-8 who live in the towns of Charlotte, Hinesburg, Shelburne, St. George and Williston may exercise school choice. Our goal is to both allow options for families and also make balanced class sizes to provide a positive learning environment for all of our children. Processes for intra-district choice of school will be guided by the needs of students, space availability, and existing resources.
